I'm new to posting, but have enjoyed the pictures here. I tried to join in and sent 2 pictures of lizards, but don't know where they went. If anyone can offer help to the secret of sending pictures, I sure can use it. I did read the instructions and thought I followed them, but guess not. Thanks.

jankey, I hope you can figure out how to post pictures. I use Photobucket- don't know how to send a link- one day I will learn. It was trial and error before I learned how to post. I'm sure someone can help you.

An "old husbands's tale" huh, rhizo? Well, well, well....I guess the "old wives" have finally earned that right! ;-D (I am sure, however, that you are NOT an "old" wife). I started out with 12 adopted cats and virtually zero lizards, frogs, etc. Now that I'm down to 4 seniors, the population of anoles has increased and five-lined skinks are showing up in large numbers. The water garden attracts spring peepers, tree, leopard & bull frogs. All of the above has brought in rat, king and corn snakes, and just last week I spotted (briefly) a black racer in the back yard. But in 17+ years of living here, I have spotted a total of TWO toads, probably my favorite amphibian. That is very puzzling. Oh well, I'll just have to be content with the rest of "Ellie Mae's critters". Hope everyone is having a great summer. In 55 years I've never seen it this hot & dry. I hope we get some relief soon. The armadillos have noticed the moist soil in my yard and have shown back up, destroying everything in their path. On a lighter note... Here's a [previous thread[(https://www.houzz.com/discussions/organza-bags-for-protecting-cats-outside-dsvw-vd~2965959) about protecting caterpillars on branches, complete with pics. I've had very good success with organza and DIY tulle-net drawstring bags tied around the branches. Good luck!

What killed lizards and crabs?

Our ducks normally fly around which I thought was normal for all ducks. They walk looking for food but readily fly when they want to. Your long beaked birds look like Ibis of some kind which can demolish a crab. Crabs have an exoskeleton (outside of body) which splits when the crab outgrows it. They wriggle out of the exoskeleton and their new one underneath is very soft making them vulnerable to a lot of predators. It takes a while to harden. In relation to Anoles, I was thinking of predatory birds such as raptors (hawks and the like). Presumeably Anoles roost in trees at night so they would also be more vulnerable to owls. All these birds tear their prey apart to eat it and a head could easily be dropped or left behind.

Not sure if I can walk you through this.
Click on the link above.
The new window should be Tinypic.com.
Click on the browse button.
The new window should ask you to choose a file.
Are your photos in My Documents / My Pictures?
If this is true, double click the photo you would like to post.
After double clicking the photo, you should be back at the tinypic.com page.
Click on the upload image button.
Next you should see a thumbnail of your photo.
Lets see if you can get to this point before moving on.

I think I have pix that far - but it's a sea hare, not a lizard. Now -- to see if it shows up. Thanks for your help.

It won't show up, there are a few more steps.

You need to cut and paste the HTML into your post.

This is how I do it.

Highlight the HTML with your mouse left button.
Next on your key board, hold down the CTRL key and the C key at the same time.
Now go to your posting and move the curser to where you won't the picture.
Now hold down the CTRL key and the V key at the same time.
You now should see the image information in your post.
You won't see the photo until you go to the review screen.
If it looks good, post so all can see.

This is probably clear as MUD! Good luck!

Now you know how to post pix. Do you have a photo editing program to reduce the size of the photo. In my program its called resampling.

In Pacasa2, use the right button on your mouse and click on any of the images. In the new window you should see the words, "open file". Click on that with your left mouse button. You should now have your photo with a tool bar across the top. Click on the word image and go down to resize / resample. Hope this works.
