First you need to crop it to 8X10 aspect ratio in a graphics editor if not already done so, dpi at least 250 preferably 300. You need photoshop or a graphics editor program to do it. Photoshop has a crop tool, when I did it in Paint Shop Pro, I had to use direct proportions to calculate it myself which was a several-step, hit and miss way to do it but got the job done. I use a professional photo finisher in South St. Paul, but you have to do a lot to sign up with them. For one photo, I'd try to get it sized as above, save in .jpg format, burn it onto a cd, and take it to your local camera store or Walgreens and ask for the Fuji Crystal Archive matte paper which is nicer than the cheaper stuff. If you need more help, I will try. If you can upload the photo somewhere on the web, I can download it and check it for you, and if necessary, crop it for you, usually a little USM (unsharp mask) which makes it sharper helps. Actually, you don't have to crop it, but if you don't their machine will crop it for you, which might work out ok, might not. I like to control how my finished photos are cropped myself. The image size for the 8X10 prints I send out is 3000 pixels by 2400 pixels with either a 4mp camera or 8mp camera.

Susan, I am not sure if any of my suggestions might be able to help but I have used dalelabs.com and mpix.com. Great quality from both. If you are doing just prints then I might suggest mpix over dale. z_joe

It depends on how the picture was taken? What resolution? What megapixel is your camera and did you shoot at the highest resolution? How large do you want your print? Screen resolution and print resolution are very different. I could view a print on line at 72dpi and it would look great. Don't try to print at that resolution tho. It would be best to print at 300dpi but I've been pleased with 5x7s at 250dpi. Walmart digital printing (on line) will warn you if you try to upload a photo and print at a size and resolution that's less than optimum. Monica

Jane, If you go to the White Windows Icon in the Taskbar (Lower Left Corner) and Right Click, you'll get a list, Device Manager will be in that List (Control Panel will also be in this list). You could also just Left Click on the White Windows Icon and click in a Blank Space then just start typing Device Manager and a List should pop up with Device manager towards the top of the list You can also get to Control Panel using this method)! Device Manager can also be found by going into Control Panel and the Device Manager Icon will be there in Alphabetic Order. The Printer Information will be Listed in Control Panel in the Devices and Printers Icon! It doesn't show up in the This PC Area any longer! In the Lower Right corner you'll find the information Center Icon. This Icon will be all White if there is information to view. The printer information may have been listed under the Information Icon. You only need to Click on the Icon to View the available Information.
