Konrad, My brother and I are volunteers for the national parks. Several times a year a group of guys and gals play the years 1859 thru 1872. Those years, the the Royal Marines and the US 9th Infantry Company D occupied the San Juan Islands. Look up the "Pig War". Most soldiers playing the Royal Marines are Canadian. In August is the big weekend we call Encampment. (See link below) Friday night until Sunday night, we stay in character as it were 1860. The first photo above was taken with a 19th century camera. That is a really pretty yellow daylily!

Yes it's a perennial. The humming birds love these. It is loaded with blooms this year. I also have a pink thats more like a regular foxglove but its also perennial.
