I've sold tons of stuff on Craigslist, and it's always sold within hours of posting.

I'd suggest posting a price a little higher than you want to get for the tires, because I almost always have people ask if I'll come down in the price.

Yes, it's as safe as anything else you buy/sell online. I love Craigslist. I have bought and sold many things on there. I just bought a bed, matress, lamp, and tv from a girl who was moving, all for $20! I bought and eliptical trainer on there, sold a record player. I have found almost every apartment I've ever lived in on Craigslist and roommates too!

My only tip is to not be very surprised if someone contacts you but does not follow through with coming to look at or purchase the item. That happens quite a bit. For example, when I was looking for a bed, I probably emailed ten people about their beds listed, but only followed through with the one that responded to me the quickest and that was the closest to me.

Your tires should say what they are. They are so much PSI and something else is all I know. Not Helpful.

I haven't tried Craigslist, but I do know of several people who have used it. I'm leary of a stranger coming to my house.

My Daughter bought her Camper Trailer thru Craigslist. And I have a friend that sold her Motorhome on Craigslist.

As long as you don't venture into the PERSONALS sections you should be fine.

There should be a bunch of numbers visible next to the brand and model of your tiers on the side wall. It will look something like this

GOODYEAR MODEL P205/65 R15 89H. If it is not all legible, at least put the manufacturer and model. If you know what kind of vehicle they were purchased for, that would help also (aka, SUV, sedan, pickup).

All this information is important to a potential tire buyer, althought I am like you and have no clue what all the numbers actually mean. But if you list this information in your ad, it should prevent buyers coming out to look at tires they cannot use.

I havn't done Craigs list yet,but plan to.I really don't see any difference in that and a yard sale as far as having people come to your home.I just have everything outside or in the garage.Never let anyone in my home .

I use it to buy and sell items all the time - I have listed a full house of furniture and sold all of it. I had no problems whatsoever.

I just sold my son's computer desk on there. First time I ever posted something for sale. He was going to set it out by the trash for pick up and hope someone would take it. I told him to hold off and I'll try this, it put 30.00 in his pocket 2 days later! My DIL's have been selling Austin and Seth's baby stuff on there as they outgrow it. They bought Ricky a new bed and dressers for both of the boys and sold the old stuff. It went pretty quick. I worry about people going to their houses to but my son's both said the people can wait until they get home from work to come over. Can't be too trusting. My son also sold his truck last year on craig's list within an hour after he posted it. It's a good thing!

I sold a bunch of stuff last summer on CL...stuff that I couldn't put on ebay because of size and stuff that was too good for my garage sale...It was gone within a few days and my house is lighter and cleaner!! I made sure DH was here when they came just to be on the safe side!...I think it's a great thing!!

Those numbers on tires are essential for your message, as they tell the size of the rims, and the space between the rim and the road as well as the width of the tire - and they need to all be the same size.

If someone came that needed larger tires than the ones that you were offering, feeding them Viagra wouldn't help.

(Imagine - installing a large quantity of air is the only way to keep a tire up!).

We sold 2 cars and a refrigerator on Craigslist. So far no problems.
