Need a change - bedroom wall color

I have lovely traditional mahogany furniture in my bedroom with all white bedding. Would anyone like to suggest a paint color that looks fabulous with mahogany and white? I would add some of "that" color into the bedding.

I'm really ready for a change, and have gone through numerous paint choices, so I thought maybe I'd ask for another opinion. I can't seem to make up my mind.

I know everyone's probably tired of me posting this picture, but it's my favorite bedroom. The wall color is BM Sandyhook Gray.

aklvdb, we painted our bedroom Valspar Iron Frost which is even darker than Night Train (as it looks on my monitor). When it was first done, it seemed very dark, but the room is very sunny/bright, and it's just such a beautiful color that we love it --- on all 4 walls. (That said, of course, since you already have curtains on order, wait before making a decision!)

Thing is, I'm no expert, but I think a lot of kids really love themed decorating. I hate it too, for me, but when I was ten I would have been in heaven to have a themed room. I think navy walls could be really cool for a young boy. And I wouldn't worry about him finding it too dark, either -- can't tell you how many perfectly normal civilised houses I've seen in my time where the boy child's room was painted black, obviously by his choice.

The wood is dark. If you paint the wall a dark color, the contrast will be lost. Create a lighter headboard ofmy choose a darker wall color. The matching bedroom set is overwhelming in its details. Alter the look of the headboard with a DIY project. First, change the shape of the headboard by wrapping it in 1 inch foam (front and back). You could use packing tape to hold the foam together and spare the headboard from damage, or use spray adhesive to the wood itself. The folded foam will give you a rectangular shape. Next, wrap the foam with cotton batting to prevent any color show-through. Sew a big pillowcase-like cover for your head board. You could choose fabric in a store, or perhaps use a pair of faux-silk drapes at HomeGoods. You don't need a sewing machine to do this, just a needle and thread, (tape measure, chalk or light pencil line on the "wrong side of the fabric" , and pins to hold the two sides together. You may want to start saving inspiration rooms you love; it will really help if you have a direction. I would purchase the rug fist vs bedding and cushions so you have a style to build on. Be sure to use various colors, patterns and textures so it feels more interesting The headboard is high and I think art above each night stand would be more complimentary and use small brass lamps for a modern look. You could add the sign on another wall If you need a bedskirt, a more tailored style would feel more modern Dresser and tv wall - mirror, plant, chair, art, baskets

The blue/aqua color is beautiful with mahgany. Peach would also be lovely.

Ahhhh, thanks for the photos! I do love that Rate My Space photo, and thought it belonged to somewhere here. :)

I'd love to use the whole room as my inspiration, but in order to get an adequate seating area, my four poster bed is placed "under" the window. And I still have the deep gold walls from my prior color scheme, and am tired of that much "warmth." That window faces northwest, so it just "feels" hot in there in the afternoon regardless of the temperature inside, so I'd like a change.

I think I'll go look over at Houzz, as well. I always find some inspiration there. :)

Well if you wanna cool the room down, a blue or blue/green is the only way to go. I painted my master in SW Quietude, a soft, warm blue with a green undertone that is gorgeous, interesting, and soothing.
