Is the variegated plant a part of the green plant? The white parts of a variegated plant can photosynthesis, but not as well as the green parts. If this white variegated plant grew from the green plant it can still get energy from the mother plant. No one but saw a Facebook post that you have to transplant it near a older adenium in the soil so it will feed from the roots to survive. I will find the post and paste it here.

Jeannie, Getting an Albino seedling from seed of a Variegated cross is more likely, it is possible from non-variegated crosses as well. Most cases these seedlings do not survive. Nice if you can get some variegation happening on their first set of true leaves and continue to produce them on subsequent leaves. Many can revert back to plain green. Don't think that the white blooming adenium (seeds from) are necessarily more susceptible to rotting. More than likely w those seeds, if in same seed flat and conditions given. It was just those particular seeds sown. Rick
