I had one of the earlier models of those coiled ones about 7 years ago and it was awful after awhile... Ie., it clogged very easily and once it did that, there was less and less flow and not much water pressure and then the flow stopped altogether rendering the thing pretty much useless. It's probably great for houseplants but I have 4, 21" containers alone with 2 shrubs, a tree, and a perennial vine, not to mention close to 100 other containerized shrubs, perennials, etc., and watering with that would probably take longer than doing it by hand. I currently have a "RealEasy" 50ft hose by Ames that rolls up into its own storage carrier (with the hose built in as part of the unit). It is a small diameter hose but no where near as small a diameter as the coiled one at your link. Thus it is lightweight by not being a full diameter hose for that length, but has enough diameter to give good water pressure for large container watering. It also hooks up to the sink and takes standard hose attachments (nozzles or wands). It can also hold up to the weather (mine stays out year round on my covered balcony but back against the wall). I've had mine for about 6 years now and it's great.

We bought our 2 romain tufted geese when they were a few weeks old and they are now 16 months old. The were about 3 months old when we finished building a 7,000 gal pond for them and eventually the 2 turtles we had. The first day we filled it they were 3 months old, I tried to get them in but they didn't want to go so I jumped in and they jumped in. They loved it, dove way down and popped up beside me. The next day they went in when I went in, the third day the pond wasn't so clean so I didn't want to go in but helped them in, they stayed for a short period of time and got out, showing no interest in returning. Later when they were drinking from it I nudged one in and she stayed a little while but never went back. They love their baby pool but they won't even go near the pond. We upgraded their baby pool when they got older and bigger and they had the hardest time picking their feet up when they got in, as if they would sink or something. We would like to upgrade that pool but afraid to waste the money they seem to be afraid of the depth of the water. I guess like kids they are not all the same. Who would have guessed!!!

Steve....Do you have any pictures? Having trouble here with the visual...I'm actually seeing two urns now LOL..maybe its time to switch to ice tea LOL...anyhow..I have two lotus near my waterfall and they seem to do ok with the moving water..I have them planted in 16" or so of water...I'll drop them in the deep part once winter sets in..deep part is 32" @ max depth....thanks for the kind forum comments...we have fun here.....Dave :-)

Haven't seen spiders yet, but we do get skimmer bugs. I've had to fish them out in the past but I'm going to try some pool chemicals from my normal order this year. How have you dealt with them in the past? This might be helpful also spiders in the pool
