Learned something new
Comments (4)Gandle, I didn't know this, and I find it fascinating. I would love your job and love to meet all the people you and Leone have an opportunity to meet in the course of a day. You get to stay put and the world comes to you, one interesting visitor at a time. It'd be fascinating to put up a world map one year with a cork board behind it, maybe even offer a different color push pin each month, and ask non-local visitors to identify their home. At the end of the year, you'd sure have an interesting picture to compliment your guest book!...See MoreHey, I learned something when eating with a group today!

Comments (6)I had a circle skirt, too, and every time it was washed, it hung crooked at some point. My mother couldn't stand an uneven hem and kept cutting it off to make it hang right until she got it so short I wouldn't wear it anymore. This was the early 50s when skirts were so long that they scooped the tops of your turned-down bobby socks when you walked down the stairs. It surely wouldn't seem "short" today! I didn't know cummerbund had two m's either. And I heard a woman tell the story of walking down an aisle to take her seat near the front in a meeting when a woman stopped her and told her she had tucked her skirt into the top of her pantyhose....See MoreLearned something about bluebirds today
Comments (9)I didn't know that either. Love WBU. We moved yesterday, and there is one about 30 minutes from us now. Not much farther than the one I shopped at in AL. I had Bluebirds come to our feeders for shelled Sunflower seeds and Bark Butter. Love, love, Bark Butter which was invented by the founder of WBU. I use the log feeder, and had three varieties of Woodpeckers eating all day, along with numerous other varieties. Your post reminded me I never got the my two Bluebird boxes down. :( It was on my To Do list for L (our handyman/electrician) twice, but other things always came first. Question - why were you going to remove the eggs if not Bluebirds? I would have left them alone....See Morejoepyeweed
