My daffodils are starting to poke out of the ground.

We have had a yard full of robins, nice fat robins and all my plants are starting to sprout....Thank goodness, it's been a long brutal winter.....

Well, it's still that long, brutal winter here, but today the sun is shining and it's 39º, so better than it has been. We are looking for some nice temps for the next few days, and the snow is melting.

It's 50° here in Nebraska today. Monday is supposed to get to 70°. I'm going up to the cabin and make sure my bluebird boxes are ready for nesting, and crank up my Purple Martin house. I'll leave the door plugs in though, until I hear/see them back.

MUD....!!!!! lots of it...

Pollen and birds are out; it's nice to wake up to chirping, but the yellow yuck on my car is not so nice.

Well, one thing it sure ain't boring!! Thursday morning it was 28 BELOW. Today it is in the 40's and the snow is melting. HOORAY!!! Dottie, northern Minnesota.

The jasmine is in bloom and sending its' fragrant aroma out in the early part of the day. The leaves are growing like crazy on the gerainums and the daffodals are in full bloom. We're suppose to get warmer weather here next week, but I hope it doesn't get too hot...everything will wilt.

we have had a good winter here in terms of very little snow. Here it is, the middle of March, and there is no snow at all in my back yard. The only snow that is left are the "glaciers" of ice from the snow the plows piled up at the end of our cul-de-sac. We still have Shelagh's Brush to get through yet. Usually we get a big storm around St. Patrick's Day and it is known as Shelagh's Brush - St. Patrick's wife sweeping winter away.

I am sure we will get another winter storm or 2 in March or April but I have already seen my first robin, the little house sparrows are starting to build their nest in my eavestrough, the starling and squirrel are fighting for the same hole in the tree for the third year in a row and the tulips are up about an inch or so. I am also waking up to bird song in the morning.

I heard birds around my backyard floodlight, which hangs outside my bedroom window, building a nest.

I love the birds singing, and this morning I heard tree frogs!

My daffies are starting to bloom, they stiffened up a bit when it dropped back down in the single digits, but temps are back up now so I think they're going to make it. The 100 or so crocus that I put in last fall are nowhere to be found. Not a one. #$%@# squirrels. I saw a couple of tulips poking through, and hyacinths are about 2-inches tall.

Yay! Spring!

Oh ... and the pussy willow tree has fuzzy bud covers ...

Temp above 0 2 days in a row, in fact up to 40 ABOVE but still snow on the ground. Melting daytime, freezing at night. Yes the birds are looking around also pheasants starting to pair up. We might get spring yet. This state is under Flood watches especially the Red River Valley.

We have tons of wild blue bonnets blooming on our south side!! They are just stunning. Ladybird Johnson would be proud.

It's 38 degrees above zero right now; heck, might as well be July!

Daffodils bloomed and now flowers are gone!

For the last couple of months I have had daffodils, hyacinths, tulips blooming. I even have roses blooming early this year. It was a mild winter. I am putting in my spring garden. Everything is so green and fresh.

Daffodils are blooming, lots of California poppies and lupines in bloom around the freeways and parks, butterflies are becoming more numerous, the ladybug lions are emerging, the fruit trees are blooming, our lemon tree is blooming again and the hills are so pretty and green.

The Huisache and the Redbud trees are blooming.

I have roses in bloom!!! One of my favorites is one called Clotilde Soupert, a polyantha rose. She is just opening some of her blooms, pink, many petaled with a quartered center....just beyond lovely! She has a strong scent of what I call, Granny's face lotion. I love this rose soooooo much!

Peonies are up, daffies are up but not blooming yet (except for the minis), new foliage on the irises, Bradford Pears are in bloom all over town, the earth is awakening. This afternoon (supposed to be in the high sixties) I plan to thin out the strawberry bed now that I can tell where the plants are.

The azaleas are blooming, the daffodils, dogwoods, and lantana. The tulip trees are gorgeous and I can't wait to plant some impatients and I'm waiting for my passion flower to start growing. Every year that passion flower is incredible and a great pleasure. Yessiree, it's spring in East Texas!!

Bicycles, motorcycles and Big Wheels are coming out. And saw a seasonal Dairy Queen was open.

The goldfish are swimming in the pond near the surface and there are rummage sales!

Daffodils started coming out of the ground a few weeks ago and this morning I noticed my weeping cherry out back is starting to bloom. My poor ice damaged big, old, redbud may not make it much longer. I noticed the other day that one big trunk is cracked and is probably dead or dying. It's such a pretty tree, had to see it go.

Here today? None - they are all buried under the 10 cms of snow we have had so far. About another 20 cms or so on its way. Shelagh's Brush!

The skunks are out at night digging up my lawn and spraying!That means no more letting the dog out after dark without company.
I have also noticed a few spiders in the house! I hate spiders!
I can hear the birds in the morning again.
The dog must sniff at everything while on a walk.
I have the urge to get outside and get my hands dirty!

We have had a very mild winter here this year. It's been in the 70's off and on all winter. Crazy!

It's supposed to rain this weekend I think but this last week it's been really warm. The flowers are blooming, my fruit tree is flowering, as are my grape vines, my grass is very green, birds are chirping. It feels like spring.
