cut out sugar cookies in the shape of a turkey....others in the shape of a pumpkin and still others in the shape of a pilgrim hat.
I have the cutters and the recipe!
Decorate with colored sugar since you have so many to make...
time consuming....but worth it!

This is too sweet and gooey for adults but kids of all ages will gobble it up.

BROWNIE PIZZA

1 (21.5 oz.) package plain fudge brownie mix
2 Tbs. flour
1/3 cup water
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 egg
1 cup miniature marshmallows
1/2 cup M&Âs
1/2 cup unsalted peanuts
1/4 cup caramel ice cream topping

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Combine brownie mix, flour, water, oil, and egg in mixing bowl. Beat 50 strokes by hand. Pour brownie mix onto a pizza pan and spread out to edges. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes. Immediately after removing from oven, sprinkle with marshmallows, peanuts and M&MÂs. Cool for 20 minutes. Drizzle with ice cream topping in a criss-cross design. Cool completely. Cut into squares or wedges to serve. Cover with plastic wrap to store. 12 to 16 servings.

I used to make M&M cookies as my holiday cookie back in the day when I made cookies and didn't watch my weight as much. They are dead easy and so colorful and fun. Just a drop cookie with M&M's in them. I could try and find the recipe if you like.
If I had to make Thanksgiving cookies I'd make my maple pecan bars, but that's not a kiddie dessert. For the kids, maybe Bobby's frosted pumpkin cookies (with a plain frosting, not lemon as the grownups might like) or yes, roll and bake if I had time, but if I didn't, can't go wrong with Brownies. Oh, and another thing the kids would like but probably sounds blasphemous--rice crispie treats with M&M's!

Easiest ever - make Snickerdoodles! These are the "go to" recipe for my 8 yo - he can make them by himself now and they are my kids favorite.

Snickerdoodles
2 3/4c flour
1 1/2c sugar
1 c butter
2 eggs
2 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp nutmeg (optional)
1/2 tsp brandy extract (optional)
1/2 tsp rum extract (optional)
Sugar mix:
1/4c sugar
1 tsp cinnamon

Mix cookie ingredients, a stand mixer makes it easy. Shape into walnut sized balls. Roll in combined sugar mixture.
Bake 8-10 minutes @ 375°. Yields: 4 doz. (and I always double the recipe).

Pumpkin Whoopie Pies

These were a huge hit with the kids & adults last year so I thought I would put the recipe up again for anyone who may have missed it the first time around. I made mine a little smaller and ended up with about 2 dozen.
Pumpkin Whoopie Pies (not just for the kids)

Cookie Cake Ingredients:
2 egg yolks
2c brown sugar
1c vegetable oil
2c cooked pumpkin (or 1-15 oz can)
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp cloves
1 tsp cinnamon
3c flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt

Beat egg yolks, brown sugar and oil together, add pumpkin and vanilla and beat until smooth.
Mix in dry ingredients.
Drop heaping tablespoons of batter on lightly greased cookie sheets. Bake 350 degrees for 12 minutes. Cool on cookie rack. Mix filling ingredients and fill cookies like a sandwich. Makes about 18 pies.

Filling Ingredients:
1/2c butter
4 oz. marshmallow fluff
8 oz. cream cheese
1/2 tsp cinnamon
2 1/2c powdered sugar
1/2 tsp nutmeg

Here is the recipe. The only changes I made were to use apple cider in place of the milk and to let the cookies cool before loosely piping the icing.

Willow's Glazed Apple Cookies
Cookies:
1/2 cup soft margarine
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 teasp cinnamon
1/2 teasp cloves
2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 teasp baking powder
1 teasp baking soda
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
1/2 teasp salt
2 peeled and grated medium size Granny Smith apples
1 cup chopped raisins
1/4 cup milk
Glaze:
1 1/2 cup icing sugar
1 TBS soft butter
dash of vanilla
pinch of salt
dash of cinnamon
2 - 3 TBS cream
Stir well to make a very soft but not runny icing.
1) Cream margarine with sugar . Add egg and spices. Beat until well blended.
2) Add apples and milk.
3) Sift together the dry ingredients adding raisins (& nuts).
4) Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture and stir well until blended.
5) Drop by tablespoons onto greased cookie sheets, 2 inches apart.
6) Bake 13 - 14 minutes at 375F.
7) Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack and cool approx 10 minutes then glaze while still a bit warm.

Wow! I knew I could count on all of you! These ideas all look great! Okay, so I had a brainstorm this evening, while baking chocolate chip cookies for our work lunches this week.
What do you think of maybe making giant, cake pan size, chocolate chip cookies, with Turkeys in icing, or even made out of MnMs? I could make 2 or three and them cut them for serving. Thoughts?
