It does seem like everyone on TV has them. That annoying Kim Kardashian has them as well and hers are smooth and straight. Maybe styling them in ringlets is all the rage now? Considering my baby-fine, thin hair, I would love some too. :o)

As if adult extensions are not enough, Pageant Moms put them on little girls (often more than 1 @a time.) The strips are glued to scalp under real hair. Warm water &
shampoo are required to remove them.

ICKY! The first time I saw this was at the salon. A woman came in in pain. She'd left her hair extensions in too long. I was sorry for her, but EUWWW!

Now every female talking head on TV has this Lady Godiva Locks Look. Used to be just the 'weather bunny' with the tight clothing. Now they all look like B-movie 'starlets'.

Also: Why do people need to sit on high stools on TV interview shows? Are the producers afraid guests will bolt if they aren't 'perched'?

I think the Kim Kardashian ex was referring to her extensions, eyelashes (2 pair) her spanx and her boobs when he made references to what was real and what wasn't...

I thought I had seen it all when I saw tail extensions for horses! LOL! They put them on for horse shows. NOT at all my cup of tea. It looked stupid and when they backed the horse - they always stepped on them.

I am also sick of the long, long hair extensions. But I would like to see what they look like on the scalp. Must be you can't brush your hair with them in?

Hair extensions are never glued to the scalp. They are attached to existing hair. Just like eyelash extensions are done as opposeded to false lashes ion a strip. How long they will last and the style-ability depends on the type of bonding agent used. Some are attached to the hair with tiny micro t rings. As long as the rings are kept tight the hair can be styled more than with the glue method.

Temporary hair extensions,for just one night, are simply clipped in with the persons own hair styled to hide the
clips.

Hair is kept brushed and is washed and conditioned. It is just more important to be very gentle with it and not allow it to get snarled.

For myself I am too cheap and low maintenance to get them> But I have considered lash extensions just to try them.

I don't think they all look bad. I have seen lots of young women that look great but there are many that over do it. I think the "housewives" for instance. If I were young I might do it too...It's just a trend ...

I wouldn't get them, but I don't see how they are any more ridiculous than perms, dye jobs, or any other thing you do to your hair to make it look the way you want it to. It's not permanent and sometimes it looks really good.

African American women have been wearing them for decades, I think it's just now becoming more popular for other hair types.

You all have to listen and watch the videos more closely. The extensions are glued very close to the scalp at the roots. They are not glued to the scalp itself. Anyone who would do that is a fool. The glues specifically say to use only on hair and avoid the scalp.

Last year my daughter Amber was approached by a gal who sells ponytail extensions. She asked Amber if she would model one for her web site. If you go to the link below, Amber is the first gal you see at the top of the page and she's in the video as well.

Back in my day, falls were all the rage. They attached to the top of your head with a comb. It helped if you made a small knot with bobby pins. I was a freshman in high school when I bought mine. It was real hair and cost me $110. That was in 1968 which was a bunch of money back then, especially for a girl making only $1.25/hour.

I am wearing the fall in my sophomore high school picture and cringe every time I see that picture. :-)

I would like the extensions a lot better, if they were nice and straight. It's all the ringlets that everyone has, that I don't like. I'm not sure if it's a deliberate style that everyone is after, or just the way the extensions go, after a while.

I remember falls too! And the knot of curls that you attached on the top of your head. Mom had one of those!

WildChild...when the extension strips/tracks are put in the hair, they are glued onto the scalp or as close to as possible...The idea is to not get it on the hair. The hair extension pieces are glued to tiny bits of hair......

Yes Ruthie, as close to as possible and that girl did just one extension. Even the comments on the video told her she was doing it wrong.

She goes on to explain to one of the commentators that she meant "half/half off" her scalp and hair. (her words)
The young lady is a ditz. She doesn't understand that the glue goes on the roots which are hair, not skin.

Go to the hair glue sites and read the labels. They warn to keep the glue off the scalp since it can irritate and even burn more sensitive skin.

Once again root line and scalp are two different things.
