Sue, I will be happy to bring you some, Well, I would be thrilled if you would bring me some. They were probably planted somewhere from 40 years ago to 150 years ago YIKES! They have likely multiplied so many times that the bulbs are just way too crowded and small to bloom. You may have hundreds or thousands of small bulbs, too small to bloom. Also, I do get a few blooms up by the house, the squirrels may have moved them, Yes, my guess is that they maybe did a little dividing of them for you...thus a few blooms. I'm off to email you about what else I can bring to the swap for you and your shade beds. I acquired something new and cool from the wild that you might like a start of! Sue

Well, the answer is yes -- sort of. You can refridgerate the tulip bulbs now, but they'll need 12-15 weeks of cold storage before you can force them. Also, it's so late in the season that you'll need to pot them up before putting them into cold storage. (I'm potting up the last of my tulips that have been in cold storage since November this weekend.) Hyacinth bulbs can be kept unpotted longer than tulips; these you may be able to just chill and then plant up and force. Chances are that you don't have enough room in the fridge for a bunch of pots, so you may want to put the potted bulbs outside for now if you have a balcony; weather in our area will be mostly above freezing for a while, and they can withstand short periods of slightly below freezing temps (high 20s) at night. Good luck.

Hi Melinda, I am mainly looking for the Species because they are supposedly more perennial then so many other varieties. I do know there are numerous others that are specially bred to be more perennial than others, but 'most' tulips just don't do much here beyond their first good year of bloom. About Perennial Tulips and More tulips that are 'supposed to be' perennials. Might you have any of those from the link above or below? I don't need any Darwin Pink, red, or yellow, as I have those already. Might you have any other named hardy spring bulbs? Sue Here is a link that might be useful: Numerous specie tulip varieties.

KirstenMarie: Temple of Beauty outsold everything else I had. I loved Menton, but old Temple wowed them so much that they never even noticed any of the others. SusanM
