I am mainly looking for the Species because they are supposedly more perennial then so many other varieties.

I do know there are numerous others that are specially bred to be more perennial than others, but 'most' tulips just don't do much here beyond their first good year of bloom.

Hello everyone, I agree that the specie tulips are more perennial. I have had my Eastern Star Specie Tulips for 6 years, they have multiplied and bloomed for me year after year.

Those are so sweet. Maybe we could work a trade again next year, if I have any bulbs of interest to you. It is something we'd both have to remember at the 'proper' digging time.

I didn't get your Lilac Wonders out yesterday, but they are packed to go out today, along with a surprise goodie I know you don't have, yet need.

Maybe it would be best to post for species tulips earlier in the year, when it is the correct time to dig them, think?

Lila, we have never traded before, but hopefully next spring if I have anything of interest to you, we can arrange a trade. Sue and I are trading buddies (I plan to send her the tulips pictured above next spring).

Yes, paddlehike is my GW cyber daffodil enabler addicted friend. Who else would send you a list of 60 named cultivars their Daff Soc has for sale and offer to order some on my behalf? Of course I did the same thing for her, but she held strong in not overdoing her ordering, with me anyway.

HollandBulbFarm has some spieses tulips on sale this weekend-- just through Monday. I planted some of these last Fall and they were very nice.
