Looking at the manual, I believe that when you use this feature, it applies to all stations, no matter the program. This seems to be the case with most timers. This post was edited by irrigirl on Mon, Nov 3, 14 at 10:33

Wedding seating: assigned or not?
Q

Thank you all for taking the time to share your thoughts.I should explain a little bit about our wedding. My fiancé and I are planning and paying for the wedding by ourselves. All the decisions, from the venue, to the flowers, to the guest list have been made solely by the two of us. My mom and dad will be cherished guests at our wedding but are not involved in the details. We originally wanted a small wedding, but we really wanted to include ALL of our family and close friends. Our save the date list quickly grew to 150, although we don't expect everyone to say yes due to distance. Family alone will account for the vast majority of the guests. We both come from extremely close knit families where everyone gets along with each other. (Really!) and those we are inviting outside of family, for the most part, are lifelong friends whom we adore As far as seating goes, family members will be seated together and we will put friends at tables of people with like interests. The only exception may be that his parents and my parents may be seated at the same table with a few relatives from each family also at the table. Both of us think back to our first weddings where we didn't really know a lot of people on our guest list due to obligatory invites for parents, Their colleagues, etc. This isn't the case this time around. Everyone on our list is there because we think the world of him or her. (I guess I should say that I won't know everyone's "plus one", but I'm willing to take that chance. It is a completely different experience the second time around. Far less stressful. Thank you for your thoughts. They really do help.

Colour Scheme Assignment

Much of your distraction likely stems from your passion and excitement for design! While a burden, it is also a positive thing. In the design world, typically the best place to start is finding inspiration. This can be a tough thing to force, but for school, it's a necessity in efforts to meet assignment deadlines. After finding inspiration through magazines and online resources- Pinterest can be a great resource for this- determine a concept for your design and stick to it. Keep reminding yourself of the design concept as you make your selections. Doing so will put necessary limits on some of your distractions. When you find yourself getting distracted, give your self a break and take a quick walk. Take LOTS of these mini-breaks. It helps refresh and refocus your mind. For this assignment specifically, focus on the knowns -there aren't many- before trying to determine the unknowns. A web search for " modern color schemes" or "modern design" will help ignite the process. Given this color selection is for a young family, consider low maintenance colors and finishes, some relating to an inspiring yet calming environments, and those that are good for resale value. Best of luck to you!

My dog ate my homework; turning in Iceland assignment a little late

I meant, ON THIS trip.....did you get the vibe it felt like home, you didn't want to leave? Or...did it feel foreign...barren...too open? For instance...in Bali...everyone was on motorcycles and it was just too 3rd world to feel like home. Australia...if felt very comfortable. St Maarten it felt like people were staring at us, sizing us up. Fiji, felt like we'd entered a civil war zone. Two peoples, on the same island, at unrest. Yes, I knew what you meant. That's what I meant too. I think Iceland would feel very comfortable... every bit as much as Australia, for example. I can't identify with your other comments. Bali ---we could see living there. It has a thriving expat community and more Aman resorts per capita then perhaps anywhere else in the world; not what I think of when I think about lesser developed countries (unlike other parts of Indonesia). I can't really identify with your experience in St Maarten either. Of course, having a young family, that's all been theoretical. And I would never buy a second home outside the US; too big a financial risk IMHO.

Very nice Eric, although I can't download all of them(slow dialup), I keep getting cut off, but from what I see, it looks like you have quite a variety of unique plants there. Some look like those that grow around here in the wild, but I do not know their names.

Nice shots.

Those are nice!

I seem to have a lot of trouble with close-ups...maybe it's my digital.
I used to do so much better with my old Nikon.
Then I bought an 8008 and I never could learn how to use it! LOLAM

Apparently I'm sacrificing great photos for OK ones because of the instant viewing from the digital.
(LOL...did that make any sense?)

Don't think breaking your LCD will give you better pics.

I thought you were saying that viewing your photos was changing the quality. LOL!

The LCD (Liquid Crystal Display)is not working on my Sony. I get lucky with a few shots. Without the display, I can't change settings. Auto setting only.

Got it!

What I actually meant was that I get clearer shots, with the results I want, using my Nikons...but I like the instant gratification of viewing my shots with the digital.

Perhaps I'll dust off the 8008 and shoot some stuff today...it's my day off from work.
