Fairly easy fix after you do some investigating. 1. check the switch, one black wire and one white wire (white should be painted black but probably isn't), 2. at the junction box hang the wires loose and turn the power on, with a tester see which black wire is hot. Turn the power off and that black will be connected to the white in the OTHER cable, paint the white black. 3 All remaining whites go together, all remaining blacks go together, all grounds together. turn power on. If any of these conditions do not apply, stop and ask for more directions.

You are watering too much and too frequently. Watering: Deep and infrequent is the mantra for watering. This is for all turf grass all over the place. Deep means 1 inch all at one time. Put some cat food or tuna cans around the yard, and time how long it takes your sprinkler(s) to fill all the cans. Memorize that time. That will be the time you water from now on. My hose, sprinkler and water pressure takes 8 full hours to fill the cans. Your time will likely be less. I like gentle watering. As for watering frequency, that depends on the daytime air temperature. With temps in the 90s, deep water once per week. With temps in the 80s, deep water once every 2 weeks. With temps in the 70s, deep water once every 3 weeks. With temps below 70, deep water once a month. Note that you have to keep up with quickly changing temps in the spring and fall. This deep and infrequent schedule works in Phoenix and in Vermont, so it should work for you. The reason for deep and infrequent is to grow deeper, more drought resistant roots and to allow the soil to dry completely at the surface for several days before watering again. If it rains, reset your calendar to account for the rainfall.

Yes, where you see the bulb hanging down in the nook is what I'm shopping for. I'm thinking a diameter between 15-20" for a light over the table. The table that will be going there will likely be rectangle measuring somewhere around 34-36"x42" A chair on each end of the table.

(Oh you changed your name)-- Ok so currently there is a flush light and minimal recessed lighting ( I think 2) in the whole area. We are demo-ing and will shift locations of some of the cabinets and appliances and sink. The work estimate agreement is for all of that. So, I did say I thought I would likely put some (2 probably ) pendants over the island but was not certain. We will have like 8 recessed lights if I recall correctly, an dI thought the lighting over the island would be nice as a design point but I am not sold to that. This is my long way of saying that they are prepared to add what needs to be done and it's not a big issue. I agree that it feels the costco pendant would be too massive. I am beginning to wonder if I should just leave the recessed lighting and not add a fixture over the island. We were supposed to get the cabinets this week and then work could start next week. Luckily we did not have any demo start. Appliances are ordered and in stock, the counter is ordered and in stock, basically awaiting deliveries on all. With everything going on , I am not certain what will happen. I would like to have everything planned out so that if when the cabinets come I am ready with everything. Regarding the hardware, I do understand that those are beautiful quality and well worth the $. Thank you for posting the pix That said, though, in my last kitchen I went with a much less $ version (I tested them out and had them compared to the $$ version ) and I swear I saw no difference. I used them for about 10 years before we sold, and they were totally fine. That 's my long way of saying I am liking the look fo the satin/brushed brass or gold. I don't need the solid brass. I would consider black or orb, but I don't think that would do well with the island which is darker. I really can't get out to look in stores. In normal times, there are very few that have inventory to see, and I was a very big online shopper for house stuff for that reason. Now, there is no way I am going to browse in the city and look for lighting stores Not even sure they are open with our non -essential retail closed.:)
