DHs doctor appointment update

This new doctor (and his staff) was SO nice! We really liked that place!

Doctor ordered blood work and UA. Also scheduled him for a CT scan tomorrow morning. He "tentatively" scheduled him for a colonoscopy Monday morning but he said whether he does it or not depends on the CT scan results.

Doc didn't really think it was a residual of the "bug" DH had because DH is still tender. He said it might be diverticulitis, and if so (and depending on the state of it) -- that might prevent the colonsocopy at this time. Sooooooo, we will see what the CT scan shows and go from there.

The doc said he hates to make a mountain out of a molehill, but he'd rather act like it's a mountain first and then back off rather than miss something. He also said that men typically try to "tough things out," so when a man shows up, he knows there is usually something going on.

Anyway, I'll let you know something when we know. Meantime, keep those prayers coming! We want to hear the words, "Don't see a thing!" or "You're healthy as a horse!"

My daughter went for a physical testerday. She's 19, it was her first visit to a non-pediatrician. She's been having nosebleeds and chest pains. He tested her blood, everything is normal, all the clotting proteins are there. It made me feel okay.

Chisue, I meant to ask how many surgeries like this he has done, but I forgot to. I was thinking of calling the office and asking about that. I doubt he would put me in touch with anyone who has had the surgery, he's a man of few words and a little abrupt. Mind you, he's supposed to be an excellent surgeon and that's the main thing. I might try a forum- he thinks they're both meningiomas, but he won't know for sure until the biopsy. He said the surgery would take place in about two months, but I'm going to try to make sure it's after Easter. I always have the family here for Easter and I don't want to miss out on doing that, with all of this going on... I don't envy you, having sinus troubles for 30 plus years. That must have been an ordeal! I get what you're saying about improved techniques and imaging. They can do a lot now that they couldn't do years ago.

I'm glad you (and baby) were able to find help Nicole!! 6 months was much too long to wait! I know if I can't see a doctor, I'll opt to see the nurse practiioner or a Physican Asst. Their schedule is usually more open and I've been happy with their care up to now.

Hey there ladies its been a while again I need to get my but in gear and quit disappearing but things have been so crazy since the last time I was here alot has happened I had a car accident June 26th at 27 weeks pregnant and had to stay in the hospital for observation to make sure she was going to be okay because the air bag deployed and hit me right in the stomach. after that I was on restricted duty and had a ton of doctors appointments, then to top it all off I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes in Aug the day after my baby shower in fact. IT was all woth it though Eva Paige was born on Oct 1 2008 at 2:30 pm via c-section after 43 hours of labor it was another hair raising event after all that time i was only dialated to a 4 and miss Eva was trying to push herself out anyways so for her safety and mine they took her out through the sunroof as DH says, she weighed 7 lbs 14 oz was 20 1/2 " and has dk brown hair and blue eyes she is perfect. Aw, just the idea of re-opening the incision gives me the willies. I'm glad it's over for both your sakes. That was a costly lesson to learn, I bet! I didn't know they had an alarm in them. Oh boy, I sure hope I don't ever hear DH's. Was it loud? Harry's hasn't "zapped" him yet (and I pray it doesn't have to).

It is great when one feels comfortable with the doctor. Hope they find what is ailing him, and it's smooth sailing from then on.

The doctor is right; men do wait too long but I'm betting the treatment for what ails him is simple and doable.

I'm sure DH feels better just having gone. Kinda stinks to get old...and you KNOW how old you're getting when the doctors are all so young!
