Hhireno--thanks for asking about DH. Almost seems like a lifetime ago that he had his surgery. So much has happened since March 5. DH is doing very well. He was discharged on March 11 and came home. I had taken so much time off from work during the previous two weeks that I ended up going into work the next day, leaving him home with our dog. Those first three days were extremely difficult not being home with him. I'm sorry I had to make that choice, but we made it through without any issues. When he was discharged they had him on an antibiotic for an infection at an IV site. Not a pretty sight. They only prescribed 5 days worth and it was not any better so I brought him to our local ER where they prescribed meds for another 5 days at twice the dosage. That did the trick. A week after being home he sneezed without his pillow and pulled a muscle in his chest, which caused him more pain than his chest incision. Thank goodness it was on his right side because he would have thought it was his heart giving him the pain. Only now that pain has finally gone away. We were scheduled to see the surgeon last Tuesday, however, received a call the previous day rescheduling to this Tuesday. Unfortunately I have a huge conference I'm running on Wednesday so cannot go with him. My DB has offered to drive him down, which I'm thankful for. Otherwise, he would have taken the bus, since he's not allowed to drive yet. Hopefully the surgeon will give him the green light on Tuesday and our lives will start getting back to something close to normal. We are scheduled to close on our current house and our new build home on May 15. Packing hasn't begun, but I've given myself until this Thursday and will start in earnest then. The past 3+ months have gone by so quickly. I can't believe we are leaving our home of the past 20 years and on to a new adventure. Just holding my breath that we make it to the other side.

Aw, just the idea of re-opening the incision gives me the willies. I'm glad it's over for both your sakes. That was a costly lesson to learn, I bet! I didn't know they had an alarm in them. Oh boy, I sure hope I don't ever hear DH's. Was it loud? Harry's hasn't "zapped" him yet (and I pray it doesn't have to).

I sure am sorry. that on top of all you have going right now that you have a sick baby too. If you need help from your family, don't hesitate to ask them...Don't get yourself down sick too. I know you can't do this right now...but when my babies were sick..I always made a bed on the floor and slept there with them...If they even moved at night I knew it and was awake to check on them.And if they got sick during the night it saved the carpet...(I covered it with blankies...lol) I hated having my babies sick. Then even when my kids got a little older and sick, they would ask me to make the bed on the floor and sleep with them. And I did. I loved sleeping on the floor. I quit making beds on the floor for myself when I found out , that living in the country , there were a lot bigger spiders than in town....lol When the gkids come...I have 4 inch foam mattresses, they make beds all over the livingroom floor. Even before Jeff moved back home and took over the upstairs, they would sleep down here. I guess I taught them my old habits. Sounds like your Reunion was a huge success. I think I would have like to be there too..lol patti

Hi Janie, I was the one who had the Novasure procedure. I cannot stress enough how this changed my life. I used to have to schedule vacations and other fun stuff around my cycle. I can remember one time my dh and all our friends went canoeing and I couldn't go because I couldn't be that far from a bathroom!!! Another thing my doctor did before the novasure thing was to have me take high doses of naproxin twice a day for a week before I expected my period. That really helped too, provided I knew when that week was coming!! Good luck!!! Don't hesitate if they suggest this procedure; piece of cake! :)
