I have never liked pulling the card in and out compared to hooking my camera up USB, but now am doing such as I was having trouble DL'ing my camera software into my new XP computer. I have had that happen to me too to where I bought a new card etc. After use in my computer, when I turned my camera on after inserting the card, it would show No pictures or something to where I could not shoot until I fiddled around with it. So far, I am having luck as I slowly put it in and out, holding my breath hoping. I also found trouble occurred when thinking I had to use that Safely Remove Hardware from the taskbar which I don't do now. Vikki, here is what our image expert says... *** Sounds like it will be difficult to ascertain where the corruption is happening at this point. She needs to test the card and the cable, and if it's neither of those it's likely the camera. For all we know though, the corruption could have been introduced in going to CD. Wiping the card was probably a bad move though - you really shouldn't do that until you have things working on your drive. If the images on the CD are bad she's probably out of luck. Can't say for sure without being able to test things. If you can get me that card I can try to run a low level search and see if I can rebuild the index file. Generally when a camera 'clears' itself it only erases the index, not the files themselves. However if she's taken more photos on it or zero'd it out it's not likely to work. *** I told him you already tried an image rescue app (which one did you use?). Do you have these photos on your hard drive as well as CD? That would help. If you find yourself down this way, let me know. Jodi-

I do it on all my cameras after I upload the pics to computer I check them out that they are on the computer and what they look lik then I go back to the drive where the camera is and delete all items then I right click on the drive and eject. Tht way it cleans up tht drive (read tht somewhere) I end up with n empty camera disk. some times I putthe disk in the computer sometimes I upload with a cord from computer to camera works the same both ways
