Haven't been around here much lately

I've tried to keep check on everyone's pictures and as usual, there are some great ones. We have been babysitting with our little one-year old who was sick and couldn't go to daycare. We are tired. This is a picture of an iris that is blooming now- can't remember if it's Dutch or German iris.

Whatever it is it's very pretty. Sorry about the baby. I hate to see little ones sick.

Thank you Doris- I see I wrote our little one-year old. I meant our one-year old granddaughter. Sick though she was with a cold and sore throat, she was still very active and just wore us out for the two or three days we kept her. Now DH is down with a cold and I expect to be soon.

dulci I'm so happy for you, yes the Lord will lead you though. I'm not on the site very much anymore because I just don't have the time. But was looking around today and saw your wonderful porch. (before) and then read your story. God can always find someone worse off them myself and your story has just inspired and renew me. (I guess I was setting here at work feeling sorry for myself) I too have a wonderful Daughter and three grandchildren but her choice of men has not been the best so I moved them into my home. Seems all I pay for is Attoney fee for her and now one for the grandchildren. Ex is really bad man, But I know that God will find and end to this 2 year battle where we all can be happy in the end. Congratulations on your impending little one! All else will pale in comparison after experiencing the blessing of that wee one on your family. Country life has a way of keeping one very, very busy, many of us understand. wassercom, my son commutes from IN to the Chicago Loop for his new job. It is a bit of a shock coming from rural IL but it excites him and he loves his job! Do you commute from IL or IN?

Hibiscus need full sun, all day if they can get it, especially to flower. Many leggy plants will get fuller by cutting back (or pinching back, on small plants). Years ago when I lived at the beach, my neighbor would whack back her pink hibiscus to only about two feet tall. And that thing would be absolutely GORGEOUS a few months later, loaded with blooms. It was in full sun. But that the cut back used to kill me - it was way before I was ever a gardener. Carol

Prettyiris, Gmom...My Grandson who gets to come stay with us once in awhile wears us out, too, after a while. He was teething for the last couple times and quite rambunctious and moody...Luckily there was nice weather then and we all had our turn to take him outside, which now we have to watch when the door opens, He's like I'm 'outa here', it's almost hilarious...I too hope you all are better soon or that it goes easy on you...
