Cynic in California they have already gone after them. several cities no longer allow happy meals toys to be given out with the meals. They have tried to tell McDonald's what the nutritional content of the meal must be. They tried to force them in San Francisco to have at least 1/2 cup fruit and 1/2 cup vegetable in each happy meal. McDonald's still sells the meals as before. The catch is that now that they are not allowed to include the toy they have decided to sell it on the side. For 10 cents! LOL Any thinking person knows that McDonald's is not a good daily diet. But for generations children have been taken out for a burger,fries and a shake as a treat. Same with ice cream parlors and giant sundaes and banana splits. It insane. Now people line up at frozen yogurt shops that have build your own sundaes with all sorts of candy toppings that are priced by weight at the register. but it has the word yogurt so that's ok.

My plant is pubicalyx "Red Buttons" :) Tomorrow, when I get a chance, I'll take a picture of the whole plant. It also has long thin leaves. I have 2 Red Buttons. One came from Sylvia & the other came from Carol. They both get the same new spotted growth & have the same flowers. The flowers are sometimes spotted like this depending on how much sun it's getting. I've seen pictures of Red Buttons & Royal Hawaiian Purple somewhere (don't remember where) on the net and the flowers were also different colors like this. (I don't mind having a weird Hoya!! The weirder the better :D

Gary, I do not have a refractometer but I will assume those that are not as well colored have less sugar from what I can taste. A good reason to prune heavily to allow proper air flow and sunlight into the canopy. Even with good pruning the best colored and tastiest apples are always at the top of the tree or the edges of the scaffold branches. The fruit in the center or bottom of the tree will be less colored,less flavorful and will usually ripen up to a week later than the fruit in the sun. I would use the fruits with poor color for cooking or cider and those colored well for fresh eating. Commercial orchardists do the same and either sell the poorly colored fruit as "seconds" or squeeze them for juice.
