It's been about 6 months since my lung clot and the doctor is happy with my situation and the stability of my medications - they've had me on the same dosage now for about 4 months.

Also I'm taking part in a study of the results that flow from the medication systems that they're using, over an extended period, and can have some of my blood saved for later testing and study.

I'm thankful for the major advances in medical services in recent years and am happy to participate in activities to improve such diagnoses and treatments.

I am some troubled that some of the highly profitable enterprises go out to aboriginal, unlettered people and do studies on them, pick the brains of their medically aware people, then isolate the active ingredient in a number of their remedial materials and make a lot of money out of it without sharing any of the profit with the usually dreadfully poor people who helped them develop their drugs and systems.

I said that I figured that I'd won the lottery, for if a clot hits one's heart - it's a heart attack, and one's brain, it's a stroke.

But they said that the heart attacks are caused by difficulties in the arteries, while my problem was in the veins flowing back to the heart.

I'm very thankful that, apart from some pain and rather minor discomfort on the day of the problem, shortly after the nurse gave me the first shot of blood thinner, my breathing returned to near normal, seems to have fully recovered since and I've been able to carry on my life pretty well as before.

I've often said that I'm very thankful that it's seldom that my body says to me, "Listen, you darned old fool - you can't do that any more!". It seems as though that message has pretty well survived, intact.

I have had regard to that wake-up call and am being some more careful than earlier.

Thank you all for your good wishes and prayers at the time of the problem.
