Oh Becky. I love the idea of using a swing set as a base for wisteria. I just got this big swingset off Craigs List, and the people even delivered it! I was kind of shocked to see how BIG it was. It's 3 sections long for heaven's sake. I was going to make one swing seat big enough for a couple people to sit on for in my garden, but this one would seat 10 people! I've tried to pass it on to a couple of people with small children, but both already had swingsets. I'm going to have to look around for a place that "needs" wisteria!!! That would be lovely once the swingset is hidden by the vines! I can see it as the entry into a garden room! I'm going to take a walk around the yard today and see if I can find a place to use this idea! How much sun does wisteria need??? I'll have to look that up!

Burlap! I hadn't thought of that. I've been looking thru GW and see some people have used shopping bags to line their baskets. I think burlap might give me the natural look I prefer. Maybe I'll try both. Thanks for the compliments on the yard. Can't even see any of my gardens in that pic. lol. It is very green right now tho. Yesterday I spent 10 minutes doing a video tour of my gardens, then found out I had the digital camera set to photo. I had been talking to the non-working camera the whole time. Silly me. :P The little yellow and pink house with the pieces of picket fence leaning against it was my daughters playhouse when she was little. It's too small for an adult, but I keep my garden junk in it over winter. The bigger shed behind it is housing a swimming pool and garden tools. I fantasize about a cute little potting shed...should have gotten the bigger playhouse. ;)

I was told that it was an antique. Any suggestions of a good weatherproof sealer I should use? Thanks Lynn Oh, My husband and son made the shed a few years ago. My husband is so UNCRAFTY/UNHANDYMAN that he had the carpentars at work cut the wood to the exact measurements and label each piece so all they had to do was nail it together. Also, if you look at the roof, the bottom is a different color because my son is colorblind and didn't notice he picked up the wrong shingles! Why the wrong ones were there is beyond me! Lynn

Very, very nice! I've thought of buying one of these as a small water garden too after seeing some nice ones profiled in some gardening books...do you think they wouldn't work well with some water lilies and mosquito fish (without filtration)? Just curious. In any case, it's LOVELY and your "backup" plan for it is inspirational. You have a great eye for design. I would never have thought of repainting it. Your plant choices are great too. Great work as always. Keep the eye candy coming. :) Take care, Grant
