Yes it is the red cord handle that attracts them to the garage entrance so painting a different color would help. I have had hummers fly in but they always just fly back out. My garage attic is closed off and my ceiling is not high so I think that cuts them off, anyway never had a problem with hummers getting trapped in the garage.

FWIW a problem is that, I switched from Acclaim to Fusilade based on internet accounts that they are similar - which they are - and the fully in solution Fusilade seemed like it would be easier to measure than the annoying smelly suspension that is Acclaim. And it most definitely is. But there's a big problem: in a yard that is a mix of fescue and a bunch of other stuff, instead of pure fescue...the Fusilade just isn't sufficiently specific to weeds. Parts of the lower yard are looking so bad now, you'd think I'd just sprayed glyphosate to kill this damn stuff. I think I got every last bit this time...feeeeewwww. But I'm probably going to switch back to Acclaim for future grassy weed control. My Microstegium problem has fortunately gone way down. Previous neighbors used to let their shady back yard get completely engulfed with it, and cut just infrequently enough that it could flower. New owners follow the religion of 'scalpliness is next to godliness' - so now the back yard is microstegium cut so close it's barely alive but, hey, at least it can't flower! But there will always be some of it blowing in from other yards. This reminds me of a whole potential thread idea: what you're 'weed of the year', but I'll probably start that somewhere else. It's a surprise this year for me! And it isn't Arthraxon.

I've grown Moonflower as an annual here in Massachusetts for eight years and almost always get a glorious display in mid-to-late September. However, this year, ironically after a very hot summer, in late August we are already having cool nights, with low temperatures (just before sunrise) around 50º. I am noticing that though I have a good number of flower buds they are not enlarging as much as I would expect at this time of year. I'm reading that cool nights during or prior to the expected blooming period can create problems with moonflower buds, causing them to not grow or open. Am wondering if anyone has had experience with this?

Glad you had a back up and a wrap that worked. On the planned dress, try pulling the zipper down and inspecting the teeth. Some zippers are made of nylon coils and dothers have rectanagular teeth. The most common reasons for them getting stuck are a loose thread or bit of fabric getting caught or the zipper not being aligned when you try to close it. If it is in a Y, the angle can be too great for it to go forward and if you keep trying, you can pull the teeth at hte lower part of that Y our of alignment. If you keep pulling with loose thread or a bit of fabric, you can damage the dress too. Either way, see if you can coax the zipper back down and look at what is going on with the teeth If they are all still attached to the zipper tape and there is not a broken coil, you can probably clear it and coax it back. A little soap on the area may help it -- if that is fabric friendly for the dress.
