MUCH too wet, but...I'm happy to hear you've got the gumption. :) If you have clay soil...it's gonna be at least the middle of next month before you can till. (Barring no rain.) If you till while it's wet...you'll have the soil so compacted, it'll be almost worthless, for a long time. You can use that straw for mulch in your garden to help keep the weeds at a minimum...that is if it's fairly weed seed free straw. Sometimes, there's a LOT of weed seeds in straw. Just hold your horses & get your seeds started so you can transplant the PLANTS when the weather turns for the planting season. (That is if you're going to plant things that transplant well.) Beans don't really enjoy being transplanted, but most anything else out of that category does EXTREMELY well as transplants. I've even know people that transplant their sweet corn. Personally, I couldn't be bothered trying to transplant corn & wouldn't take the chance of breaking the root system, trying. I, too, am in NW Ohio.

...what mix are you going to use in your buckets For the first round I'm probably going to try the local topsoil companies potting mix, my only reservations are that I don't know where their topsoil comes from (what might be in it) and who knows what the horse poop has in it.... Bought 3 blueberry bushes off craig's list; brightwell, premier, powder blue. Figured to put them in 5 gal non-SWC with lots of pine fines to keep acidity up. I'd put them in mini-nuggets of pine bark if you can find them, it'll drain better than the stuff we use for Al's mix. Tom

Karen : If it wasn't so far , I'd be right over. :) Get the rest you need and have no worries of getting all the Easter packed away. I'm sure the bunnies don't mind staying out (and seemingly continuing to multiply whilst they are at it. lol ) Small steps at a time are the best way. Lucky : The big eggs are a heavy ceramic mold in crackle finish with an airbrush style painted print on them. They were a TS "steal" at 5.00 I think. The bottles are vintage Avon Emerald Bud Bottles. They aren't any priceless treasure , no. I think I paid 3.00 a piece or so for them at a TS. Thank you for your lovely comments. :)

Glad you liked this one, Belle. It was fun to do. We just got some more rain here too, I'm always thankful for the rains since we tend to get drought conditions here in the summer months. Colorcrazy, not complicated at all--I DON'T do complicated! LOL Just a small brush and short, straight strokes of ivory on top of the pink undercoat. Glad you liked it. My grass is just starting to really green up now, we don't sow rye or anything to keep it green all winter, although it does stay mostly green. I figure letting it go dormant for the winter gives me a break from the weekly chore of mowing it! LOL Luvs
