Lola graduated Puppy School today :)

Congrats Lola and Weed. I can't believe how big she has gotten already.

At least they had a size that fit her. When we were going through our first puppy class with Sadie, they only had the large ones. When Sophie went through the puppy class, I ended up making smaller ones for our local PetsMart. Since then, I have ended up making a couple of dozen of them for different stores around here. We really enjoyed our puppy classes.

Enjoy every minute with her. Puppyhood goes so fast!

Thanks again guys. It's just that I'm dealing with software that does what it wants, when it wants. I've found that just "giving up" makes everything run smoother, so--miraculously--here she is again in "be here now" mode. Otherwise, she and her sister can now say they've been pickpocketed in Times Square during the NYE festivities. It's kind of funny since they'd just gotten out of seeing a play dealing with the collapse of civilization/apocalypse, etc. I think the irony was totally lost on them. Some things just have to be seen from a distance.

Yes I only shoot in the morning and that is shaded where it is planted. I would have shaded it anyway, I think you get a truer photo if the sun isn't reflecting back off it.

My Little Girl Is Still Here!

Donna, your hummer haven is irrestible to them, giving them a comfortable pause in a long journey south. I had two females for the last week but haven't seen them this afternoon. Maybe your girls will pause for a few days here at my blooms and feeders. There are also Mesquite trees with thick soft leaves to sleep in at night. My regulars always sleep there, they give protection from the rain and wind. Send your girls to another safe haven here.

Linda, my PetsMart could use some of those small ones! One of Lola's classmates was a mini long haired doxie named Luigi. He was soooo cute! The hat was almost as big as him. What was really cute was that all along, he had trouble with "down" during class. Today, his parents brought "his" rug from home, and he did his "down" like a champ :)

Weed, it must be a doxie thing about downs. None of mine would do downs in class without a towel or blanket. They think they are too good to do a down on cement there I guess. At home, they would do downs on our cement screened in porch, sidewalks, etc, just not in PetsMart. It was so frustrating for us until our instructor pulled about a blanket in class one night and they did their downs. I guess they are just spoiled rotten. LOL.

ah Weed, she is so sweet looking, a real doll. Lola, love the name.

You brought back humiliating memories for me, Roxie failed puppy school, the only one in 10 that did not graduate. She hopped on a chair and refused to do anything on final test night.

Oh my! How embarrassing! Actually it was touch n go with Lola. She got spayed so I couldn't run her before class to calm her down. She did ok though, and graduated "Barka Cum Louda" :)

Adorable! All growed up and graduated!

Doxies have very little belly hair and are sensitive to the cold. If I tell mine to sit on a cold tile floor he will squat instead. If told to down he will look at you all "no you di'int!" then reluctantly down for a second before coming back up. Funny critters.
