OMG you are right! I read that ants 'milk' them for nectar. That explains the ants around them all the time! I'm posting a link to the YouTube video below that I watched that shows how they farm these insects. It really is cool. However, as much as I love these kinds of wonders of nature, the mealybugs are going to have to go, since I also read that they suck the sap out of plants causing leaf drop. The insecticidal soap is an excellent treatment for many pests, and very good advice from Gary. I recently found a source for an industrial strength organic soap that is reported to not only repel white flies, but fruit flies as well. I'll know in a couple of months whether or not it lives up to it's billing.

Not septoria. Have you fertilized? If not, please do so on a regular basis as the label directs.
