I don't remember many spectacular sunsets from OH, but in the few years I've lived in AL, I've seen so many, I had to stop taking pics that were just filling up the hard drive. It always intrigued me that the folks who have lived down here their whole lives don't realize how beautiful the sunset is almost every night. So I did a bit of searching and learned the air currents brings microscopic dust particles from the African desert in this direction and that's what causes the increased pink and orange coloring.

I love Sunset magazine, I'm a two-generation subscriber, but really nice to see the link and flip through all the gorgeous photos with additional links for info about some of the gardens. I have over an acre, and have two very tiny strips of lawn out front, more for color and to break up our lanscaping, and a small square of lawn in the back again, just for color. The rest is planted in nearly all water-wise plants on drip. After working on our sprinkling system, fixing leaks, and switching some areas to drip I was able to bring our water bill down by about 50%. Thanks for sharing, jkmom. Patty S.

All great photos! This is one of my favorites, too. Mine gets a little deeper than No-Clue's, but doesn't get as light - or as deep - as Mike's. It looks great at all stages!
