Introducing dog to new baby

Hi everyone. I'm new to this forum, and need some advice (I did a search for this topic, but was unsuccessful in finding a similar post here).

I am having a baby in May--our first one. The furkids, Reilly and Axel, are both our current babies. Reilly is an 8 year old Shepherd/Husky/Collie rescue and Axel is a 2 year old Border Collie/X rescue.

We had friends over the other day with their 16 week old baby. Axel was NOT himself, seemed very nervous and apprehensive, although not aggressive. He was burying his head in my lap and very unsure about the baby. Reilly could have cared less. Axel is very attached to me and has been with our family for almost a year. Reilly has been with us 8 years.

I borrowed one of those dolls that cry from the home-ec department in the high school where I work. I don't want to go overboard, but I figured I could desensitize the dogs with this doll.

Any advice would be very helpful. We already keep the boys out of the baby's room. Thank you!
