There was a thread on this a while back, and I believe the outcome was that Rustoleum was not intended for actual stove tops, where it would need to be food-safe and hold up to scrubbing. Holding up to heat on the shell of a barbecue is different from holding up to routine scrubbing on a stove top. Some high heat spray paints say they can be used on stoves, but they mean wood stoves, not a kitchen range. Your current range has baked-on porcelain, not paint. I'm attaching a discussion on this topic; some seemed to have luck with engine paint, and some tried combinations that sound really unsafe. I love navy and agree -- the orangey wood looks good. You have enough white and silver/grey in there that the warmer wood adds that third color and interest. This might be a room where you don't paint the trim and door? At least you know you can do it last. ;-).

Repainting my cabinets has been on the winter to-do list for several years now. Even tho I've done tons of painting in two houses - like every single room, at least twice, or more - I've been a little intimidated at launching the cabinet project. Yours looks great! Any advice or encouragement (and paint brand info) would be appreciated! (And yep, cute kitty!)
