Lol, I'm glad you all enjoyed the video and yes my husband was dreadfully encouraging her until he realized she was going to take out all his bait for fishing the next day, lol. She didn't eat them she just liked to catch them. My other dog likes to eat them. They love those denta stix from pedigree and they do get snacks, lol. When I first got my tropical fish tank it took her months to quit smashing her nose into the tank trying to catch them. She is a full blooded doberman but John didn't have the heart to get her ears cut when she was a pup and she is getting fat with old age and the tumor in her belly. That is the perkiest I had seen her in a long time. She is on some new medication and it seems to be making her feel a lot more frisky. I don't know why but fish and flashlight beams drive here insane, lol.

Dorothy, I still had a couple of spring-planted tomatoes in the ground and this rain has finished them off...instant death. I'll pull them tomorrow if the misty junk finally stops. The fall tomatoes look fine, but army worms are here so I don't know if that will last. I have fall broccoli and cabbage and this is the perfect weather for them. The okra seems to be stalling, but since the temps have stayedin the 70s for several days with no sunlight, that's not unusual. The green beans are very happy. Whenever I decide in July to carry over spring tomato plants to fall, I always regret it by late August because they look awful. This year is no exception, so I've been yanking them one by one. The fall tomato plants have blossoms and green fruit, and I'm already harvesting from the cherry types so I am a pretty happy camper. I think for all of us with tomatoes, the cool weather does adversely affect hornworms, so hooray for that. Jan, I hope y'all get some rain soon, especially for the winter wheat. Most of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex just got pounded with rain all weekend long. In some areas they were out doing high water rescues this morning. My husband works at D-FW Airport and he kept sending me text messages for a couple of days that said stuff like "Getting pounded by rain". "Still getting pounded. Any rain there?" etc. It drove me crazy because at that time the rain wasn't here yet. I wish we'd had as much here as they've had down there. When I was a kid, my uncle and aunt lived in Grapevine which was a one-horse town. That was in the early 1970s. Eventually they sold their land to D-FW Airport. Even though Grapevine is so much bigger now, it is still one of my favorite places. I love their old downtown area AND all the new shopping venues....I can kill a whole day at Grapevine Mills Mall, and I'm really not even a mall type person. I know Dorothy would send both you and Jay rain if she could because she's getting too much right now. I'd send ya'all half of my measley 2.5" if I could figure out how to pack it and ship it. This week's rainfall puts our total at about the same amount as our average annual rainfall, so I guess this is going to be a good year, statistically speaking. It is still raining here and has been for most of the day, but it is a very light mist, so maybe we've picked up another quarter inch. Every bit helps though! Dawn

I think maybe? you started with too small quantity of worms. You said $30 for them. So you purchesed 1 1b probably or maybe 2 1bs at the most. I think you should have bought 4 or 5 pounds for one of those big bins. They will mutliply in the right conditions but you have to only feed them as they will eat. I would add some new bedding and feed them zukinie squash and pumpkin or butternut squash and some corn meal. But only give them a 1/2 cup every three or four days for 1 1b. at first and make sure they eat it before giving more. I always start out with cardboard and compost and dried leaves crumbled up and soak the leaves and cardbaord before adding to the compost. If you can buy more worms that would be good so you can feed them more. It does take more than one try for some of us to get the hang of things. That is not too much water in the bedding and not too much food to soon. Do you have any books on worms like " Worms eat my Garbage". I bet that book would help you out alot. I really don't like granite. It's too speckeldy, too pretentious, too cold, too ostentatious, too expensive. And maybe it's just me, but doesn't most of it just look like rust stains? I also researched all the other countertop choices. Throughout our homebuilding we've tried to remain focused on our twin goals, Durable and Low Maintenance. And so we've come back to granite. What I found out is that granite showrooms only have a tiny selection of slabs onsite for you to look at. And most of those are ugly speckled rust stains. BUT, when you've found a company you want to work with, they'll hook you up with the huge granite yards where you go to pick out a slab and they send it to the installer. In our case it's a two hour drive to a huge city where there are a half dozen granite yards and acres of slabs of granite to choose from. You walk around for a couple of hours dragging your husband (who really doesn't want to be there and doesn't like anything unless it's cobalt blue) and your kids (who are fighting over a piece of gravel they picked up in the parking lot) and suddenly you turn a corner and find The Perfect Slab. And you hear a heavenly chorus that swells to drown out the sound of the kids squabbling and the perky salesperson who doesn't have a clue what you're really looking for (you couldn't tell her because you weren't really sure either.) And tears of relief and joy spring to your eyes, your husband drops to his knees in shock when he hears the price, and then you're done. Then you get to choose a backsplash!
