Well, that was an interesting walk down memory lane. The best crabgrass killer you can get now is the calendar. Crabgrass only grows in the summer, so it is all dying about now. I would suggest you start over like you did last year. But no matter what you do this year to fix the lawn, if you don't water it at least once a week in the summer heat, you're going to be cycling through a major repair every year. Since you got the Logan Labs soil test, I assume your first app of lime was the proper type of lime and the proper amount according to what you got from tiemco and Andy. What was up with that second app??? It sounds like it was quicklime. Next time you want to try something a little sketchy, please ask here first. I don't know if it had anything to do with your lawn dying, but I am betting the lack of water had a lot more to do with it.

I'm not really encouraged my next week's weather predictions. It looks okay for the central & southern Rockies but too cool and rainy up here: Those are predicted rainfall amounts during the early part of the week. We have snow melt flooding of the rivers right now but, that isn't my gardening concern. The amount of cloud cover and cool temperatures may make hardening-off of plants from the greenhouse difficult. High temperatures on thru the week show that we will just break 60F for highs. The biggest problem for me is that the greenhouse is overflowing!! Overflow means - overflow. I need to get things outdoors or they are left in the shade under benches or in the garage. Having the older tomatoes in the unheated tunnel last night has me on pins & needles this morning. It was colder than predicted & windier than predicted: with 35F & gusts above 25mph . . . Luvs, it must be one of those "computer viruses"... I actually mentioned in another post that I was thinking about purging some dishes. Accckkkk. Prosp, I hope you find some neat stuff at the sales. How is your neck doing? I hope not a lot of pain for you. Mo, yes its a good system in most respects. He's such a laid-back kinda guy, and doesn't care what I do to decorate the house or yard. Or how many collections I have going, or the eBaying, etc. He seldom notices a thing, I definitely am married to Mr Oblivious! However, his obsession with golf means we don't do things together. I was obsessed with dog shows till the Fibro got so bad and I've had to mostly retire from showing. But we've always had VERY separate interests. We don't even like the same stuff on TV, so he watches his and I watch mine. The dogs hang out with me and the cats hang out with him. So guess it all works out. We've been together since 1967. Just sometimes, I wish we shared things and I wasn't always 'alone' doing my thing! None of my "visible" friends like the stuff I do either, except one who likes to go antiquing with me. This is my fault for being so involved in the dog show world for the last 35 yrs tho. Now I've changed a lot in interests and my friends haven't. I blame it all on this Forum and my Garden Junk one, LOL. But I love my INVISIBLE friends, and even if you aren't seen, I often take you shopping with me! Just hope the store employees and other shoppers don't hear me talking to you when I spot something you'd like. hugs, Karen

If you are going to be really emotional, how about having your DH give the speech? I live in the States so it may be a regional thing, but usually there is the toast by the best man and if there is any speech by a parent, it is usually a welcome-type given by the FOB. Just a thought since it seems you are having a bit of anxiety over the emotion tied to the content of your speech. I don't think I would be able to get through it without a river, so I wouldn't even attempt it. Perhaps the more you rehearse, the better. Does your DD know you are doing a speech, and if so, does she know the content? Thinking if you could practice it in front of her (being the emotional trigger) may allow you to get through it with less tears when you give it at the wedding. However, if you don't want your DD to hear it prior to your giving it at the wedding, is there someone else you could practice with, a really good friend who has a DD, with whom you are very close? Your own DM? Just trying to think of a way for you to pull some of the raw emotion out prior to giving it at the wedding. Tears of joy are totally normal, but if you are crying a river, will you be able to get through it? Five minutes is a pretty long speech. Any event, I hope the wedding is wonderful. It sounds as tho no doubt it will be. Congratulations! I would love to see pics, so please snap a few to share here.
