I ended up making them this past weekend. I did a meatball filling and Marinara sauce over them. I used the won-ton wrappers and folded in a triangle for the lunch batch. I did pillows for the freezer batch and that's how I'll do them in the future as they took less time to fold. The won-ton wrappers were really a nice way to do it. My husband came in from the shop for lunch and looked at them and said you made these with a grin and said he really liked them and my daughter had Ravioli for the first time and after each bite she went "yoli yummy". (She's 2 and loves food). Here is a pic of her plate: and here of the 2nd batch that I finished after lunch for the freezer. Not the best quality pics and I'm not a food artist or even know how to make them look good/appetizing on pics.

Well I reviewed three books that I got out of the Library. The one I liked best was "Glorious Garnishes". I am having my children and their partners over for Labor Day and I want to try out some of the ideas on my crudite platter. I am surprised to hear about all the folks who worry about the food being touched by human hands. It never occured to me to worry about that. Geez I'd never be able to eat any crudite ever again if I did! Anyway I especially liked the little cucumber baskets they showed because they look so easy. I can fill them with veggie dip. Another book "Play With Your Food" by Joost Elffers was also good. Elffers does all the little whimsical animals with veggies. The original book I went for "Art of Garnishing" by Inja Nam was beautiful to look at but most of the flowers were pretty involved and required things like electric food slicers etc which I don't have access to. Yep, she uses polymer clay. I've delved into it a bit, find it a fun hobby. I don't do food miniatures unless you include my herb garden plaques and they are not miniatures... I made 6 then moved on... I think the smallest 'realistic' thing I attempted was a human... this is the beginning of the face - that's a standard X-acto blade next to it: The introduction of translucent clays made an impact on the PC miniatures food community... it's amazing.. I used it on the lemon slices above. Not a miniature, but I became oddly fascinated with yellow jackets after finding a nest on the front porch. Uhg! So I made a PC one, with translucent wings, painting the veins with alcohol ink, and dusting with iridescent powder before baking. ... my friends think I have strange inclinations... but I'm just curious and like to see what I can make : - ) There are tons of YouTube vid's on how to make miniature foods with polymer clay, and Etsy is filled with them for sale if anyone is interested.
