OMG, those are gorgeous. Restoration hardware has their Empire Camelback in a certain fabric on sale. The legs are straighter, but it's a similar overall look.

Ideamom, what do you consider a 'good price'? Everyone has their own definition and budget, so having some idea of what price range you would consider would help those of us who want to help.

The first 2 pics are chairs I found searching on the net so I saved the pic. The last pic I took when I went to one of the Southern Living Idea Houses. I contacted the store where they purchased the chairs and about fainted. They were $3000 each.

Its very similar to a parsons chair, though a parsons chair is not as fancy. The sell parsons chairs, usually in a fabric, not leather, for a reasonable price at SteinMart. Do you have one of those nearby?

No, I don't have a SteinMart, but do know what a parsons chair is & can say that I definitly like the chairs above better than a parsons chair. I have champagne taste on a beer budget! Maybe I'll have to settle on a parsons but wanted first to see if any of you knew if I could get the above chairs anywhere within my budget? I'm crossing my fingers & toes!! LOL

It looks like you're interested in the scrolly wood detail as well. The RH chairs are most similar to #2 but without the curving cross members. Was just there and they started at $345 for that style. Aside from quality, they look like high-end chairs both style- and detail-wise as well. I'm not sure you'd find inexp knockoffs quite like that.

Tinker has been looking at some similar detailing. Maybe she knows some reasonable sources.

How about these? They come in a pair, and there are also matching arm chairs on the same site. I know the back isn't upholstered, but perhaps you could make a cool slipcover for the back, or add a lumbar pillow on each chair that has faux nailhead trim down the sides or something.

Stanley furniture has a chair like that. The best price I've been quoted however is $411 for the side chair. They also come in leather. If you want a higher end chair on your budget, you could always just buy two and match with something else less expensive. At a later date you could add others.

Too bad you weren't posting this last summer. I bought a vintage dining set like that, (similar) to give to my son and his new wife, but they didn't want to go that traditional, so I put them on my local CL and made a profit. I found mine on Craigslist. If your budget is limited and you can upholster or have access someone who can, why not try looking for vintage and add the right fabric/nail-head trim?

The Hooker chair is fabulous! MUCH better than the one above for $210 ea. It's very similar to your inspiration chairs. What fabric will you use?

Soshh: I don't know if I can choose a different fabric for the chair or not. I'll have to check into that.
