My sis called last nite and said you all had a terrible ice storm and she had no power...

Wondering how things are there today and hope you all at least have power.

Our electric went off about three this morning. It came back on a little afternoon.
The ice storm is something else,but we didn't have to go out so it is beautiful. Vince and I were sitting at the table and the sun came out. It was really beautiful. We took a few pictures so I will try to post some.

Ima, I'm much closer to Westlake than Donna and Velleen. She might have lost power for a short time, but I doubt it was for very long. I'm about 20-25 minutes west of her. She gets more lake effect snow than I do, but that's mostly what we both got. We had about 6" here with about 3-4 inches of ice/snowy ice. Roads were terrible this morning, but good this afternoon. When I took DS to his interview this morning for 10:00 the 4 lanes were plowed about a lane and an half, parking lots were better with the private plows, and side streets hadn't been touched. I got stuck on his girl friend's street 4 times! twice each way. The last 2 times, DS, the neighbor and the mail man were all pushing. I drive a SUV, but it's not 4wheel drive. Her street had been plowed by this afternoon sometime. The ice on the trees sparkles like diamonds in the sun. It's beautiful!

Have to tell you about Donna! Had the pleasure of she and her sister, Mar, to visit me, for two nites, 8 years ago, and then I drove and spent 4 nites with her. She has the most awesome personality. Everyone, in her town loves and knows her. And she is blessed to have such loving family, extended family etc. And even her Bro Jo gave me a big smooch! ahhhhhhhhhhh Hats off to her, and I treasure her friendship! She's mighty special!

Kat, I'm closer to Cleveland airport than Donna is. DH works right around the corner! It's not bad. In fact, I was there last week. Akron/Canton might be closer for airports. They do alot of advertising here for that one being less crowded, but I've never been there. I don't fly, either! Without exact addresses for the airports, Cleveand to Massilon is approx 1 hour driving 54.5 miles. Akron/Canton to Massilon is approx 32.8 miles 39 minutes, but I don't know where the airport is in relation to Massilon. Donna will know better. Go to hotels dot com for a selection of places to stay in the area. There were quite a few when I pulled it up. Didn't know your dates, so didn't try to find any available rooms. If we are home when you come I would love to drive down to see you! There are plenty of places to stay in Cleveland, also. Amish Door is a great place to eat! I see they have an Inn also. Tami
