I should have said it's 3 different tiles and not 3 colors on ONE tile! They are basic ceramic, glossy, standard size. I do not like the bright white alone with the darker cabinets and that's why I added the 2 other colors, which are muted browns (bone and beige to be exact.) These are in addition to polar white. Cabinets are streamlined with small inlay around.

I can't find exactly what you're describing, but here are some examples, with the same idea of mixing close shades of the same color. I think your tiles will look wonderful in your kitchen. Just enough variety to work with the granite, but not so busy as to compete :)

I'm glad the pics were posted, because I was imagining a lot of brown and beige, but you have a lot of color within those 'browns' and it should not be at all blah.

Which tiles in the pic are you considering? I like Lavender's first illustration and Boxer's 4th, 8th, and 10th seem to be close to what you're considering. (#8 is one of my all-time faves) I like white and cream used this way, but am a little worried about the white looking stark with the beige... But with your white trim, it might be just perfect. Also depends on the balance (amounts of each) you use.

I once knew where to find an online tool in which you could specify colors and amounts so you could see how much of what colors you wanted in a blend. Maybe someone else here knows where to find it.

I love #8 too and lavenders pastels. IThe colors on the panel are the bottom left subway tile (arctic white), top right (beige) And 3rd down on right (bone). I might add another cream and beige just so visually has more and blends seamlessly. The sink is a granite white, trim all white with white in pendant light so it's all pulled into room and won't look stark. It'll have very clean lines. Cabinet is shaker style too. When I googled this cabinet all the photos show it with a white sink and that's why I didn't go with beige sink. White brings in the modern updated feel. Kitchen currently is 40 yrs old.

I do think a couple more in-between colors would be good, because I think that on the wall, there will be more of a difference between those 3 than in some of the examples above.

I'm with rhome...more variation would be better. I'd do all 4 on the right, plus the white on the bottom left. (odd numbers almost always are visually more pleasing). And play around a lot with the proportions.

Rhome, u was going to use equal amounts of the tiles. Do you agree?

Probably not. I'd play with the percentages on one of those tile tools, or even take pics of the tile colors and make copies to cut apart and play with if you have to. Often a little of one, either the darkest or the lightest, or both, because of their impact... goes a long way.

I did a random pattern with my mosaic tiles with more colors. I started with 2 as a base, then mixed a few of the others in. Ignore the little bits of stronger color and see only the calmer parts.

Also, with the quartzite tiles behind my stove, that were naturally a mix, and I didn't mess with it much... I found that once it was up, the dark ones really stood out and dominated, and I wished I'd used fewer. In your case the white might work that same way. Having a few scattered about might be just what you need to connect with your white sink and trim, and brighten it up with little surprises, while the rest is a more subdued mix.

I would probably start by choosing one of Boxerpup's examples that you like best and trying to replicate it in numbers and proportions of colors, and tones.

I agree with rhome. We chose 6 different colors for our BS-- 4 more or less blended and 2 were more dominant. We ordered the 4 that blended in equal proportions, and halved the amount for the 2 that stood out more. I think we could have done with even fewer of the dominant ones.
