Backsplash for darker kitchen? Thinking 3 colors of subway tile.

I'm doing a kitchen redo and have chosen a coffee cabinet, ouro brazil granite (whites, brown, black, gold) and Bermuda cypress wood floor. The floor is much lighter than cabinets but has knotty dark wood marks which match cabinet beautifully. Going with oil rubbed bronze hardware, white undermount granite sink, and white trim in kitchen with light beige paint.

Kitchen is clean lines, traditional and conservative. No bright colors! I want muted but not muddy looking with all the browns.

For the BACKSPLASH, I was thinking of a subway tile with 3 colors: white, creamy light brown and a beige and doing a random pattern with the colors but staying true to the standard subway tile pattern/horizontal.

Anyone think this sounds like a good, bad or boring idea? I've looked high and low all over the Internet and have seen no good pictures of what I want to do. I would post a pic but cannot figure out how to do it.
