Leslie...How wonderful to have a Bluebird trail! I have always had only one BB box up at a time but have always had good luck with it. A few years I had only Chickadees in it, but better that than HS. Here on the Cape I have no HS. I have worked hard at keeping them out of the yard. I count for PFW at Cornell so I feed all winter. I offer thistle, safflower, BOSS, sunflower hearts & suet...the HS are not interested. We are all birders in our neighborhood and keep a watchful eye & ear for any HS. My blood runs cold when I hear that chirp, chirp, chirp. That's when I get my sling-shot...and I'm a very good shot! A few years ago I watched as two adult male HS ganged up on a Chickadee, had it down on the ground pecking it until I jumped up and ran them off. I hate those awful birds! I am thankful that we do not have them here! But...I am always on the look-out!

Years ago, I was at staying at The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, WV. I was waiting on the elevator to go up to my with another woman who was very pregnant. When the elevator came up from the lower floor (where the pool was) there was a frazzled looking young woman with a small boy and a baby in a stroller. The boy was crying and not very happy. His mother laughed and said he was mad because she had made him leave the pool. She was trying to calm him and telling him that his daddy was waiting on them and they were going to order lunch. She joked with the pregnant lady about how this is what she had to look forward to...we had a good laugh. Apparently, in the confusion we had not pushed our respective room floor buttons. The next thing I know the elevator opened to the Penthouse floor. Standing there was the most beautiful smile I have ever seen. You guessed it, John Travolta was getting ready to get on the elevator. He spoke to his wife and told her he was just coming down and to join them. Little did I know I had just ridden up on the elevator with Kelly Preston and her children. He was very friendly and said a few words to us. I never saw him again on our stay but, I certainly did look for him every day.

Hi again gwanny for free, This "pumoing gas" that you spoke of ... is that sort of like shooting one's self in the foot? Our governments have held several investigations. Which concluded that, yes, the claim is true - there's no collusion in the gasoline business ... that it really is competitive! And, in this area of about 340,000, I think that about half a dozen may have believed them. The "market" that business figures to be more or less like god, works so that when you have something that pretty well everybody needs, you can pretty well charge what you please. Which has meant that one guy who had the keys to a pretty well essential service ... ... has become the world's richest guy. In about half of a generation. Been investigated several times .... came out smelling like a rose. Works even better, especially if the stuff gets used up ... and, being non-renewable (in the short term - something less than a million years), the world's running out of it! Good wishes for not needing something that's essential. Or, if you do, having your own source of supply. ole joyful

Well I found this "down and out" mount and think it may solve my woes. I will have to deal with or patch the hole in the wall behind the tv-but I may leave a smaller opening for components and such. The house was built in 2000 and I just think that was before people started getting super large tv's, so I won't feel too bad about filling it up (having a carpenter re wall it and patch and paint, I can't see such a small space holding a tv again. Anyway here it is, it just swings up and down and out (it will clear fireplace mantles), you can also get it with a pivot head to angle it for viewing preference. It has great reviews, so I am kind of hopeful it can solve the tv issue. Oh and I would probably paint the wall bracket to match the wall so it blended in better.
