For a change, I'm sitting at my desk at work having lunch today. Usually I go home for a quick bite and to walk the dog.

Today's lunch is: Sesame Chicken with Fried Rice and fresh broccoli. A co-worker went to pick up Chinese for us today. Yuuuummmmmm!

I'm sitting at my desk, too. My lunches are completely boring. Usually whatever is offered in the cafeteria. Today I had a tasteless chicken salad on multi-grain sandwich.

I am very disorganized in the morning and I don't think I could add packing lunch to my morning routine. I'm lucky I don't go to work wearing my slippers.

I do get to go out for meals frequently as part of my work. Since I am usually eating with a client, I try to order things that aren't too messy. Crab cakes is a favorite. I avoid sandwiches that squish out when you bite into them.

If I pop out to run errands at lunch I pick up some Chicken Waldorf Salad at a favorite lunch place. I never go to fast food places.

Today I had an open-faced grilled cheese and tomato sandwich. I'm obsessed with these lately!

I've been trying to make myself eat lunch for ages now.
I finally actually brought some lunch-type stuff to the office today.
Right now I'm munching on carrots, celery and broccoli with ranch dressing.
Have some cottage cheese and pineapple in the frig too.

Leftovers usually. I pack it up after dinner in "to go" sized containers. In the morning I can just grab one and toss into my tote bag with a banana, yogurt or muffin (from the freezer).
Today was "junk food" for me. Leftover egg salad, wheat thins and some mini pepperoni sticks.

Is it time to go home yet?

Leftover chicken jambalaya from my weekend cooking frenzy. Tomorrow, if I'm lucky, it will be churasco with asparagus & cherry tomatoes. It all depends on my husband not having seconds at dinner :-).

I need to make sure that I have lunch stuff packed & ready (or at least available) the night before because I'm in too much of a stupor in the morning. And if I don't have lunch & a snack with me I can far too easily fall prey to the siren song of fast food crap up & down Rt 59.

It's tough, though. I'm not very good about shopping for quick, lunch type food and things like yogurt get devoured by the men in the house. I don't mind, except that I never find out that somebody finished the last one until I'm scrabbling in the fridge at 5:30 AM.

I make my husbands lunch tote up the night before..I refuse to get up at 4:15 to make his lunch.
He often gets leftovers..but prefers non nukable things, so that he can eat his desk at his leisure. So I try to do leftovers that nuke..2 x a week and sandwiches the other days.

My lunch was finished a few minutes ago..turkey with havarti rolled up..I need something sweet now though. LOL

I love any leftovers for lunch and if they can be mixed with rice and plated with some leftover salad, that's the best! The last 3 days I've been eating Ken's homemade chicken soup - not tired of it yet, its great!

Sigh - would that be Route 59 in NY? I used to live in Rockkland County and haven't been up that way in ages and ages! Used to love the tacos at Jack In The Box!

Mine was very boring. Tuna salad on white Dandy Bread.

I wish that I could think "lunch" the night before, but it just doesn't happen. After dinner, I can't think more food......then in the morning the thought of food makes me ill. That started when I was a kid going to HS & still w/me, just can't think of eating before 10 am.

Breakfast, if I could only have it around 10ish, then I would be able to bypass lunch altogether, but not always possible during the week.

I do keep some items at office such as; cottage cheese, veggies, & fruit. I'll need to try getting something together before dinner, that might work.

I buy (or occasionally make) canned soup. It saves me so much money to bring my lunch. I like the Progresso hearty tomato, and a few others. (I don't like the Whole Foods canned soups). I make bread every week or so, and bring a thick slice with butter and cheese and eat it with my soup. Sometimes I'll bring an apple and cheese, or add yogurt and granola.

I have a nice Corningware soup mug with cover and vent (no explosions in the MW) that I keep at work, along with my apple slicer, and assorted spoons and knives and forks.

Sometimes I'll bring bread with lettuce, tomato and bacon and cook the bacon in the MW at work and have a BLT.

Yes, Rt 59 in Rockland. I work in West Nyack and I'm sure that Rt 59 is much different now. Positively crammed with stores and 2 big shopping malls that you can easily "do" during a lunch hour. I don't think the Jack in the Box is still around but the White Castle is.

So today's lunch is a mini bagel, toasted, with smoked mozzarella and a bunch of roasted vegetables. Tomorrow's will be escarole soup. Unfortunately I always need to plan lunch in advance since there's two of us taking it.
