How Many Places Have You.......

How many places have you lived in your lifetime?? I was born and raised in Geneva, Indiana. I lived there until I got married in June of 1968. I moved to Anderson, Indiana with my new hubby. Lived there until August of 1971. We bought our home in the country and we are still here. Great neighborhood and wonderful neighbors. We have had a few bumps along the way but for the most part life has been "GOOD." I think we plan on staying.. How about you??

Have you ever seen the big tall poles with a propellor on them. They produce energy and for most people who put them in they produce more energy then they use and they start getting a check from the electic company instead of a bill. Problem is for most people the amountof money they are saving is not even close to the cost of the generator. (Est. $10-20,000_ With a bill of $500 dollars a month it would pay for itself in four years and then your electric is essentially free. I don't know about electric heat, but I would imagine you may still need more power than a single wind generator can produce. If you plan on staying in your house for a while it may be a worth while investment. In my case (or my fathers case) it would take too many years for the generator to pay for itself than is worth while for us and we don't have that kind of money upfront. It is easier to pay for the electric bill each month which is a smaller cost than the wind generator even though the long term costs are higher.

i lost my senior great dane girl 5 weeks ago to bone cancer. it was sudden and shocking and i still look for her. my remaining dane girl and eden were joined at the hip, pip took the loss very hard and had been grieving so much, it broke my heart. i contacted pip's breeder and one of her former co-owners and asked that they keep an eye out for any adults that any breeder friends might be considering a new home for (retired show dogs, etc.). the co-owner gave me the contact information for one of her people who had a dane boy she had been looking for just the right home for and the rest is history. meet "flighty foto my way", call name "frank". frank will be 4 years old on 5/31. he is a very sweet boy and he and pippin hit it off immediately at our meet 'n' greet friday. they do zoomies numerous times a day, sleep curled up together and are just a perfect pair. pippin is so much happier and that makes me happier. even though i miss eden terribly, i am beginning to heal now that pip is feeling better. frank is a bit on the thin side because he lived the last 4 weeks with a female dane who was going through a heat cycle and when that's going on, intact males ignore food, do a lot of pacing and fretting and routinely lose weight. he's eating like a horse so i'm confident he will gain and be back to his normal weight soon. i'm giving him a few weeks to settle in and then i'll make an appointment to have him neutered.

OT - Too many cleaning products - How many do you have?

I won't even begin to list how many cleaning products are in my house. It's. Absolutely. Terrifying. That being said, I'm working on getting rid of much of it and using more natural/earth friendly methods. One thing that I am having a tough time giving up is my toilet bowl cleaner with bleach. I just haven't found anything that makes me feel like the toilet is as clean as when I use some bleach based product. Just mixed up a batch of baking soda, essential oils (eucalyptus and peppermint), a little bit of Dawn dishwashing liquid, and enough water to make a paste. This was used to scrub the tub which gets absolutely horrible because it's an old porcelain tub (but the finish was messed up from the previous owners)...it got it as clean as the harsher cleansers I've used with about the same amount of effort. Bonus is that it smelled lovely, way better than most cleaning products you can buy in the store. Looking forward to hearing more about some of the alternate cleaning products that people use.

I remember after renovating my kitchen and bathrooms the first time, I had acquired all this knowledge and skill and felt that I should use it. It seemed so pointless to have gone thru and learned so much to get it done, to just throw that away. So I totally get that you are still keen to do another one. We had a house fire and ended up redoing everything (hard but fun). I got to fix everything I wished I'd done differently (I'd recommend the site finished hardwoods), but now I'm totally burnt out and am happy to live with what we have. It sounds like you still have the energy. If you get it at a reasonable price, I'd do it.

We moved a lot. In California we lived:
Van Nuys, Fountain Valley, Huntington Beach, Aptos, Irvine, Garden Grove, Anaheim, Santa Ana, Placentia, Tustin, Riverside, Corona, Shafter, Templeton, Paso Robles, and finally our move to South Carolina. We live in a tiny town called Landrum.

My husband was in Air Force and we were stationed in several of the states and England. Later on in life it was a RV road trip. One of the most blessed events of my life happened in England, I gave birth to my son on my 21st birthday.

Probably got you thoroughly confused. Not sure how many different places my folks lived before I came along. No, my Dad was not in the service during this time, just had the wanderlust and always looking for greener pastures. He served in WW1 and was discharged before he and my Mom got married.

born on a farm near Sandborn, Indiana...lived there 12 years moved to Lafayette, Indiana and lived their till I was 22 became a flight attendant..spent 25 days in Atlanta in training...the Delta shipped me to Chicago out of training...left there after a little over a month and moved to Houston, Tx...stayed there for 2 years 2 months...moved back to Lafayette and stayed there 4 years 2 months...Moved to Lawrenceville, Ga stayed there 4 years...moved to Fayetteville, Ga and have been here ever since 22 years...in three different houses...My next move will be to retire...we have no clue where or when that will be...probably somewhere close to wherever the kids end up!

I've lived in the north and northwest suburbs of Chicago all my life. I lived in the house my parents bought when I was an infant until I was married at 23. DH and I lived in an apartment, a townhome, and then in a house an hour's commute north of the Loop for 30+ years while our DS was growing up. We built 30 miles north of Chicago in 2001. I finally escaped Cook County! LOL

We also 'live' in our condo on Maui 4-6 weeks a year. I spent some summers in RI and some winters in FL as a child.

I've always libed in New York state. I was born in Buffalo, lived there to age 10, moved to a suburb called "Clarence", then went to college in Rochester, moved to Queens for three years , then married in 1979 and have lived in two homes in Long Island. I've slowly travelled from West to East over the course of 57 years. My next home will be somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean. Seriously, I have told my family to cremate me and scatter my ashes at sea. But wait till I'm dead. I'm not ready yet.
