e-mail question.......

Good Morning every one...

I'm so mad, I just composed a big ol' long e-mail to a friend, and when I hit "send", it popped up error, could not be sent. And it kicked me out, when I went back to the original post from her, my reply isn't there. Does any one know if there is a way to get it back, or am I just SOL????

some email clients save those unfinished emails in a drafts folder if you have a drafts folder or something similar look there.

If you had not typed anything else, in those cases you can always go back and hit control Z and it will re do/undo what you last did, I would go back there and try hitting control z now it may or may not work.

no, it's not in my drafts.
tried the control z....no luck there either. thanks any ways!!

Hi chrizty! Sure...just go to the Member pages link in the green banner at the bottom of any page. I see you have yours set to show to NO ONE. There has been problems with some folks getting their emails via GW, so you may want to consider showing it to 'Members'. That way they can get your addy and email you from their email program and leave GW out of it. We have missed your smiling face around here. You doing all right? Try to not be such a stranger, hear? if you are using xp there is a very handy little windows power toy that puts a resize photo option in your right click context menu so that any picture you have on your pc you can just right click on it and select one of the smaller sizes offered or choose a custom size then use the smaller version when you attach it to your emails. Go to this link scroll down to the image resizer option and download it to your pc Image Resizer for those with Vista there is no such powertoy but this image resizer does the same job. Prish Image Resizer: PowerToy for Windows XP/Vista Also sometimes you can simply right click and the send to, email and it will let you select a size have you tried that?

You obviously do not understand my question. I am using Outlook. Outlook informs you of the presence of a message by placing it in the In-box. In order to do anything with that message, including delete, you must 'click' on it. Once you click on it either left or right, you 'open' it and expose yourself to whatever risks are inherent therein. Maybe your system does not work that way, but mine does.

I know it's frustrating not to get a response to an inquiry, but to be honest, because of internet security issues and the manner different Interent Service Providers handle email delivery there is really no guarantee they even received your email. Our ISP will randomly reject an email if it's system feels it's a threat. So after my own personal experiences I have a hard time writing off a company just because I didn't get a response to an email inquiry.

Rita, I can relate to that. It is so hard for me to compose a message, especially a long one. Then to lose it.....Arrggg

I have that problem so often that now I always copy all my messages before I hit 'send'.

If you did not save a copy to 'drafts', its likely gone. When composing a long text, it is good practice to backup the work periodically. For enails, this is accomplished by hitting the 'save' button once in awhile.

[I realize this advice is like trying to fix the problem after the "cat is out of the bag" or was it "Closing the barn doors after horse is out of the barn".]

This has happen to me MANY times, its so frustrating and I can NEVER rewrite what I said the first time. I got to where I was copying it every so often just so it would be safe. Now Yahoo has a thing where after just a few seconds it makes a draft for you, so all is not lost.

And it seems to happen most often when you've written priceless pearls of wisdom and don't remember what all you said! BTDT, more than once!

I've started to copy things even when I do a longer post, just in case. Click in the message box, Ctrl+a, Ctrl+C and if it's important enough I'll drop it somewhere else, especially if I'm putting in a lot of html, graphics and the like. And I learned with Office 2000 to save early and save often and on something big, save under a different name too. I don't remember the number of reports I had to rewrite because of Microsoft's "features"! I got to the point some years back that I'd write it in OpenOffice and then copy it to Word. Some of the places with whom I worked required it to be in Word format.

I don't know of a way for you to recover it if it's not in the drafts folder. I know the frustration, for sure!
