Just one. Mastercard, and I pay it off each month.

DH and I have paired down to 1 gas card and 1 visa each. It's so much easier to control the spending and keep them paid off. Our visas are on the same account so I can track both our purchases, and pay everything off together.

None...I hate credit cards. I probably should have an emergency one but oh well.

Just one and it's paid off at the end of every month. I do not use it every month either.

Myself, I have three cards. I only really use one and I always pay the balance off every month. In fact, sometimes I pay the balance off just before the cut off date, so that when I get the bill it has a zero balance.

Just one and we paid it off last Friday. Then, a mouse destroyed my car and we now owe another $1100. I hate that!

I have 3. 1 is what we use when we purchase most things on the internet, going out to eat, etc. The second is just used for Xmas gifts and when we are on vacation. We pay this one with a second checking account (this is where we keep our Xmas club money and tax money). The third card is a Kohls card which I only use when there is a sale (card holders have good sales!). All of my cards are paid in full every month.

I have more than one, but I use a single Visa card when I need to use one. Otherwise, we pay for everything either online, with a check (seldom), with cash, or with our check card (which comes directly out of our checking account).

I have a Visa, and a second Visa account with my son. He needed a credit card while traveling in Africa and Japan, but was too young (17) to qualify for one on his own. He's 22 now, so when he graduates university this spring, I will take my name off the account.

My DH has his Visa, which earns miles. We charge nearly everything on that card, and pay it off monthly.

He also has a Mastercard that he used for business when he was self-employed. That card has a fairly low limit, and we now both use it for on-line purchases. Having just one card to use for on-line makes it easy to track everything.

Macy's - always paid off, not so often used and Mastercard, nearly paid off, but fairly frequently used.

I had one. Used for emergencies only. Seems like the past two years, everything is an emergency. The current balance is almost 100% car repairs and medical bills. I just got notice last week that they are raising my rate to 28.99%. I canceled the card.

I got a notice about my MC rates going up ... so I cancelled it. It was a rewards card - but I never used it enough to gain much... & it had an annual fee...
So I dumped it. I also have a Discover card..

We just have a debit card to be used at a separate account at the bank set up strictly for this card. If it is stolen or lost, they can't get no more than what is in that account, Dottie

I don't have any. I always carry cash or have a debit card.

I look after an elderly man and buy his groceries, etc, and I have his credit card, which I pay off every month.

More than I need, but do pay them off every month. Some are gas credit cards as we travel alot, but only have 2 for retail stuff and one exclustive online.

I have three. One is a work card, used only for work travel. One is the one that pays my bills automatically and one that is used for online shopping and for out in the world, should I need it. I generally use a debit card for everyday use and the credit cards are paid in full every month, automatically from my checking account.

I have a Sears - have not used it for years, A mastercard that is with my debit card. Citibank card (I think it is a Mastercard too) and a Chase card I took to get a $30 on first purchase discount from Amazon. All are paid off. I just found out that the Chase one has no grace period when I got a statement saying I still owed them $2.49. I think I'll close it soon.

One I never use. The other I don't use much and pay off every month.

DH and I have one together and I have one independently so that I can show a history of good credit. Both are paid in full every month.

Almost everything goes on these cards (or comes out of my checking account). I probaly use $500 in cash per year. I like having a record of annual spending purchases and having the CC company to back me up if I have a dispute over a charge. Both cards are airline mileage cards. I don't 'get' debit cards; don't see the advantage and see a disadvantage in that someone who got your information could raid your bank account. (You are only liable for $50 on fraudulent use of a CC.)

None we have are bank/card Visa and that is it......I hate credit cards or let me say I am not good with them....better for me to pay with cash or my bank card.....Stacy

I have a Kohls that I use when they have sales that you need a credit card in order to get the discount (pay off each month) I also have 2 major credit cards, One MC and one Visa.
And my DH has his. We have both managed to have balances that I was not happy about but our new goal is to get rid of it and we will both pay off next month. We will keep the cards and use them as needed/pay off each month.

Four, and they are ALL paid in full at the end of every month.

I've had one major card for several years - almost always pay off balance due in full before the due date, resulting in no interest paid.

I recently took out another at low rate on transfers for about nine months and planned to use it to pay for stock purchase, but haven't bought for a while, so the 1.9% rate period is winding down.

The Line of Credit rate was about 4.25% a while ago, but then a new prime rate came out, lower ... but they tacked on a surcharge of 1.5% due to the economic slump, resulting in my rate becoming 5.0%, if I wanted to use it.

What's the possibility of persuading your local financial institution (bank, credit union) to give you a loan to cover the balance owing on the card??

Their rate, even on an unsecured loan, will be a lot lower, I'm sure.

Also, if you have a GIC, CD, bond, etc. ... including stocks' or mutual funds' certificates, an insurance policy, if you have "whole life" with built-up cash value, using them as collateral to undergird the loan will earn you a much reduced interest rate, as well, I expect.

When you can build up some cash as a cushion, then use it to buy some investment assets, if you leave them with the bank/credit union as collateral for a Line of Credit, your rate will be quite low, almost certainly. Try to arrange one with no set-up fee, and no fee for periods in which it lies unused, even for substantial periods.

I've done that, and when I have an emergency develop, I use the card to cover it, then draw on the Line of Credit to pay off the balance on the credit card just before due date, to avoid interest. I won't pay an annual fee for a credit card, either.

Good wishes for getting that debt eliminated before too long, and at as low a rate of interest as possible, in the meantime.

None. Dh has one for emergencies and his business. We don't use them for ourselves. However, we have quite a bit of old debt to pay. (That's why we don't use them anymore.)

Most of our lives we had just one....in case of emergency on vacations.

But right now we don't have any. Just our debit card.
