Pringles recall

2 types recalled because of potential exposure to salmonella.

"Cheeseburger" and "Taco Night" flavors.

Sounds like they should have been recalled for "lack of good culinary sense"! Anybody here who's actually eaten one of those dehydrated "crisps" flavored like a cheeseburger? Sounds absolutely disgusting. You could melt some Cheez-Whiz over them for a better dining experience!

Lol!! My DS and DIL love those things! I can take them or leave them and prefer the plain ones.I would never touch either of the ones recalled.Would rather have a good,homemade french fry or pan fry myself.LOL

I agree - can't imagine who comes up with these ideas. I still haven't recovered from seeing roast chicken flavoured potato chips in Canada. And while I admit to being fond of Heinz ketchup - added daintily to side of plate - the thought of a ketchup potato chip turns me off. I agree with lilliepad - a good, made at home french fry (with ketchup) - my feeling is that if I am going to eat it, it had better be the real thing. I have a problem with cheese since I can remember when "old" cheddar had to be 7 years old - not artificially aged for 9 months. Unfortunately these days many people do not know what cheese tasted like back in the day (I am 60) and small cheese makers are being forced out of business because people won't wait for their product to mature. I don't like Cheez Whiz - never did, but I think that in the 1950s it might have actually contained some cheese. My husband used to like Velveeta - not any more. But I wish he would leave my cheese alone! I am also tired of beef that tastes as if has been boiled - when it hasn't.

Marazzi has been hit and miss in terms of quality over the years. I tend to steer people away from their stuff, but some have used it. Most of the trouble I've has is with too much vairation in tile size, and with tiles being pringle potato chip shaped, slightly out of flat. Back to the "white line". I'm not familiar with the Marazzi "white line", is it right at the glaze/body demarkation? Grout won't "stain" the line, but it should cover it. It's just a matter of not wiping too much grout out of the joint when cleaning. Grout can wear over time, but it's really not that common in residential unless the installer messed up the grout and it ended up with less strength, then it could powder away over time. But again, no promises, as I haven't seen this white line for myself. My big concern is that if some tiles have the line and others don't, it's a problem of some sort. It might be a significant enough problem where it might show through the grout line, or at a cut edge. Inadequate glazing coverage? I don't know. The Villa Villeta that I've seen were pretty good tiles. DAL has several faux stones that are through-color, a few more that are glazed. I just put in an order for DAL Continental Slate, the Asian Black. A through-color. Not much "slate" color variation on the surface, just black/charcoal. Decent texture. It's a good tile.

My hubby's BF did a tour in Afghanistan, and Lynn has already mentioned some of the popular/requested items we sent to him... chap stick, individual drink crystals for water bottles, sunscreen, beef jerky.... etc., etc. Our friend was often "out" on patrol away from camp and eating only MREs (or whatever they're called now) for long periods of time. He would crave fresh fruit, but it was hard to come by, so we sent him the small lunch-size cans of mandarin oranges, fruit salad, etc. We even sent him my MIL's homebaked molasses cookies that she packaged individually with her FoodSaver.... he said they arrived in remarkably good shape, and if heated were almost like freshly baked. I think he said they set them on the engine compartment of their vehicle to heat, or something crazy like that.... he came home with some incredible stories.

Thanks for the update. Phew. I'm so glad I never buy junk food. Nothing I would consider eating is on the list. My luck my run out tomorrow though if they recall spinach, watermelon, or strawberries again. Or peanut butter again. :Keeping fingers crossed:

Mrs. Mann and she did not like me very much and was a little mean to me and I never forgot that. I found out years later from my Dad why she didn't like me. LOL Her Mom lived on my street but down in the next block. Before she moved down there she lived 2 doors over - Mrs. Goodman was her name. She used to call our house and hang up or say things to my Mom about having so many kids except my Mom didn't know it was Mrs. Goodman making those calls. My Mom was really upset by these phone calls. One day my Dad was home from work and when my Mom got the call she handed the phone to my Dad. He demanded to know who it was on the other end and the person didn't say anything but my Dad listened closely and could hear a clock in the background. After hearing that he knew exactly who was making those calls and he charged right on over to her house and yelled at Mrs. Goodman. Of course Mrs. Goodman was mortified she was found out. Next day she sent my Mom over a basket of jams and other things. My Dad came home and saw what she sent and took the stuff right back over to Mrs. Goodman's and told her not be a hypocrite. Yea Dad! I paid the price for that though. Mrs. Mann practically shunned me and didn't treat me nicely like she treated the other kids. I never told my parents until years and years later. I didn't even know she was Mrs. Goodman's daughter until my Dad told me. LOL Anne

Not a huge pringles fan (they coat my mouth with a grease that turns me off) but if I do eat them, the light ones are better.

DD loves the pizza flavoured ones but you rarely find those in Canada. Her second fave and DH's fave are sour cream and onion pringles. I cannot even stand the smell of sour cream and onion flavoured anything.

Have you noticed how much smaller they are?

Thanks for the warning. Luckily I don't eat those flavours.

There are other items too, I heard kettle chips on the tv.
Dips and other things but don't know what.

Its getting worse and worse as its not regulated and needs to be.

How do we know what is safe and isn't. Are we going to have more people dead from eating more stuff that isn't safe?

Like on salt springs island, they make this brie cheese and they said its probably sitting in people's fridges all over the islands,etc.

They also said fast food places are really bad at picking up bad stuff, alot due to unwashed hands.
