What color gutter for wood fascia/metal roof?
Comments (22)When a poster asks about interior or exterior finishes it's always a help to know and understand all of the other finish choices, since they all have to be harmonious with each other. We still don't know what your exterior wall material and finish will be, and that will have a major effect on the color of gutters and downspouts. If your exterior siding and finish will be some sort of "natural" color, then I think the suggestion above to paint both gutters and downspouts a copper color is a good solution. Ron's suggestion of one color for the gutter, matching the natural stain finish, and a second color for the downspouts, matching the siding finish, is also a good possibility. Good luck on your project....See MoreBest roof and gutter/trim colors
Comments (3)What is the location? If in Texas (or elsewhere in the South) a black roof will increase the amount of heat in the attic and increase the cost of air conditioning in the summer, which can be significant. To compensate for the dark roof, consider extra insulation in the attic, combined with power roof ventilation, and more vents in the soffit. It looks like the soffit is also going to need a good cleaning to get rid of that black mold or mildew before it is painted....See MoreIs it correct 4 house trim & gutter colors to differ by a full shade??
Comments (2)Yes, I tried multiple times to delete the other posted question, to re-write it and include additional photos. The darn thing would not go away! LOL Then, when searching a few moments before I saw your reply, I was gleaming what I could by searching through Google results. I clicked on one that seemed to have the same question as me...wah wah wah...when it struck me instantaneously that it WAS my own question on Houzz...Then, a second after my Houzz question page came up, it disappeared as quickly and was not available. Guess I just deleted it ONLY FROM MY own searches . LOL Technology! :) Thanks again, Jan. You made an excellent point. I am going to have to be the one to live with it and see it daily. It wouldn't be bugging me so much if it felt right to have the colors a shade apart....See MoreWhite Stucco, Brown Roof and Gutters, Burnt Orange Trim
Comments (10)You mention orange but can't see any in your picture but maybe something like this can work for you... If possible either replace or cover in wood the two iron columns on the porch. Paint all trim including window frames and the flower box in the light greige, dark red door as an accent, black railings. I would paint the storm door the same colour as the front door. Perhaps you can replace your 2 sconces with larger ones of an more current style, Amazon has several inexpensive ones sold in sets of 2. Note: What ever colour you choose, keep in mind that they usually appear lighter once applied outdoor so be sure to make a sample prior to starting the project....See Moresue36
