White Cabs, Espresso Island, Bianco Antico - Lots of Pics!
Comments (24)Wow what a beautiful kitchen! I love the granite, the hood, and the windows flanking the stovetop. Can you explain how you got such a great deal on the hood? I'm so glad I stumbled across this post because I'm looking to use the exact same Aspen light from Circa Lighting for our master bedroom! We're going for a craftsman feel and the iron finish would work well with the iron handles on our dresser. My only concern is that there is no diffuser on the bottom which might might be too bright when we're laying in bed. The light isn't over the bed but centered off the end of the of the bed a few feet away. What is the wattage of the lights you have in there for those pictures? Do you think that fixture would work well in a bedroom?...See MoreBacksplash ideas for Bianco Antico w Espresso Cabinets
Comments (7)It would really help to see a pic of your kitchen or at least the layout. Depending on the size and the space requiring the backsplash, different sizes of field tile could be used. So, lets assume average size. You can do a subway glass tile in an oversized rectangular shape (let's say 4x8). If you want to add mosaics, you can do a single row, then maybe a 3" strip of mosaics, then the rest in the field tile with a broken joint pattern. Here's one suggestion for field color: I like the taupe or buffett gray depending on your slab. Then you can do a mosaic inset of your liking. Another different idea would be to do a "safe" color but in an interesting way. Choose something with somehttp://www.interstyle.ca/img/products/glass/mosaics/icestix/icestixcolors.jpg variation in sheen, texture, color saturation to bring it more interest without competing with the granite. Like this? The rumble color looks kinda nice. Install either horizontally or vertically for even more "funk"....See Morebacksplash for bianco antico w/white cabs...dark or light?
Comments (9)It's beautiful!!!! Check out this tile, it was actually one of our favorites until I decided to go the white route. Mandala Tile, Sinu Collection, Color: Stingray. You will not believe how well this works with this granite because it is not a flat color. Seriously, go find it and take a sample of the granite with you, or bring home a piece. Click on this link, then on "products", then "sinu", then any of the tabs that are below, the colors, the field tile, etc. (sorry, I can't link directly to it) Here is a picture from my collection: Here is a link that might be useful: mandala tile...See MoreWhat Color of sink with Bianco Antico ?
Comments (12)Why I recommended brown: I can't stand ss sinks. I'm up front about that. You couldn't pay me to own one. That was out whatever I did for tops. I was set on a blanco silgranit the minute I researched them. All the BA I've seen around here for the past 22 months has a fair amount of brown. I didn't want a light sink like biscuit because it shows the dirt and pits of cilantro at the bottom or whathaveyou so much easier than dark. The blanco black isn't as rich and deep a black as I like. Plus, I don't think it goes with BA. At least the numerous slabs I've seen. Given all that, brown was the obvious choice for me. In the end, I chose Carrara instead of BA. I chose the metallic gray blancos for that. I have the super single sitting on the floor and my prep sink is on the way. Metallic is really beautiful! Still, I'd choose brown for BA....See Morebeekeeperswife
