Just checked the forum today. Thanks for all the responses. Yes, it is BM Navajo White and it is growing on me more and more. I think I will have my Dad paint the rest of the cabinets on that wall before I make a final decision. My current appliances(frig, gas slide in range, and OTR Microwave) are white, but I am trying to decide on whether to go with SS or black. I have a painted black island and have already replaced my old white DW with a black one because it looks more blended. So I guess I could go either way on perimeter appliances. That will make a very big difference in the way the painted cabinets look. I like black appliances, but I think the SS will brighten it up a little. Maybe SS with black accents? I have got to take some time to learn how to post pictures here. I have been lurking and posting for months, but have never figured it out. I have some pictures uploaded to my pc. I am in the health care field and not very computer savy.

Ivory white is not Acadia white. Ivory white #925 is in the Classic colors fandeck and Acadia white #OC38 is in the Preview colors fandeck. They are very close in color. jbrodies' kitchen that was recently posted as finished has cabinets in Acadia White. Here's a pic of ours while being remodeled. We're not quite done yet, but you can get an idea of the Ivory White color. The wall next to the cabinet has been primed so it is white in color and you can see the Ivory white next to it has a bit of yellow creaminess to it. My hutch top is walnut so you can see it next to brown. Also, I have a lot of natural light in my kitchen, during the evening the cabs look even more creamy. I think either color would look great with Tropical Brown.

I see a lot of gray in both cloud white and white dove - less in cloud white but it is still there a bit. The Velvet white has no gray in it and is more of a warm white, but no highlighter yellow and lighter than linen white by a few shades. It is still quite a bit darker/creamier than both cloud white and white dove. I did read, in my search for the perfect cabinet color, a decorator (in the House Beautiful 500 best paint colors thing) say that when linen white looks too yellow, he sometimes mixes it with decorator's white. That was too complicated for me and my quick decision but if you have some time, you could buy a sample of each and play with the proportions a bit. . . Oh and trying to find that quote (I didn't find it) - I found this and a picture. . . It's true the whites I use are not all the same shade, not even in one room. I use Benjamin Moore Linen White quite a bit, but I use it in various densities. I mix it with pure white to take the edge off the commercial color, which is always slightly too blue. I do the baseboard and trim in the brightest white because it sparks up the room and really plays up the architecture. The living room walls here are two parts pure white to one part linen white, while the trim is five pure whites to one linen. Linen White ages so well, you don't get tired of it. Will BM Navajo work with the Super White? Yes. Here's why. Only two things to worry about to coordinate white trim and white/off-white wall colors: hue families and chroma. Hue families - is an artistic judgment about how the two colors relate to each other, it's not color data judgment. To my eye, I don't like the white's h° to be too close together but they also can't be too far a part. Chroma - as long as one of the whites has more chroma than the other, then they will work together because we know one white will NOT make the other look dirty and gray. How much more chroma is an artistic judgment using color data as a framework. A good rule of thumb is one white should have at least twice the amount of chroma or more than the other. The white with LESS chroma, the one that's more white is usually what people choose for the trim. The white with MORE chroma, the one that's more colorful is usually what people choose for the walls. However, you can reverse this rule of thumb if you like the look of not white, more colorful bolder trim and a near neutral white on the walls. So how does Navajo White and Super White stack up against this rule of thumb. It's good because Super White has a chroma of 0.21 and Navajo White has a chroma of 1.27 - ample difference in chromaticity. Which means Super White trim/doors/cabinets will look nice and white and clean juxtaposed to Navajo White walls. From a Hue Family and/or h° color relationship perspective, I like it - the colors are far enough a part but not TOO far a part. Look at the Hue Families and h°, 92° and 115°, on this color wheel and you'll see what I mean.
