Yes, rug color is okay to my eye as I don't think you want to draw the eye down to a more pizazz-y rug as there is enough to look at already.

I like tables nested.
Round mirror should work, will match curves of coffee table.
Silk panels - like them to match DR chairs/rug color - less cream, more wall color? Maybe even dark color on sofa pillows.

1 - i think the mirror can be either circle, oval or rectangular.

2 - rug, i think the color is fine, kinda match your dining chairs.

3 - i like the nesting tables the way the are now. just a thought tho, have you tried putting the floor lamp in the color instead (swapping the chair and floor lamp around)? just wonder how that'd look, tho it does look pretty good now.

4 - do you really need scones? look pretty clean without. i love the painting - who is it by?

5 - WT, i think cream/off white, green or brown would prob look good... probably depend on the shade.

Thanks, Whenicit & Ummm! The wall color is Behr Harvest Brown. Looks icky on the paint chip but warm and comforting on the walls.

I will switch the lamp and chair around, think that will look better since I also plan to put stuff on the tables, like maybe a low vase and candle in mercury glass?

Nice room! Your furniture is so pretty and fits the room really well.
I think yo shoud do a sq.mirror so it will not fight with the oval coffee table.
Pier One has some great lime apple/green curtains with grommets. They might be a nice compliment to that great print and you could add choc. brown silk to them. I think I'd do wrought iron sconces, very simple and clean lined.
The rug color is ok, but I think needs a little color but very little so it doesn't fight with the rug under the table.
Could you move the lamp to behind the chair?

We actually have just a little breakfast table in our kitchen area that only seats 4 because the space is so tight. So, we purchased the formal dining table to give us some options when we have company over. Also, I was sort of at a loss what to do with this room. Our TV is monstrous and best hidden in the family room where there is a wall niche for it. So, I tried to give this room a bit of a formal (for us anyway) flair with a grown-up table and some more refined, scale pared furnishings that won't need to stand up to beatings :)

New arrangement - what do you think?

I can put the art over the buffet, and a floor mirror where the art currently is (just beyond the floor lamp) per Les917's excellent suggestions!

I actually prefer the earlier arrangement vs the new one. I think the earlier arrangment makes your space larger and now it seems to cut down on the space.

I agree with nra991, the size of your table really dwarfs the sofa whereas in the first arrangement it wasn't so noticeable. Also your livingroom area looks smaller now.

I like the first LR arrangement, too. Re: the rug...I would take the rug under the DR table and move that into the LR, and leave the floor under the DR table uncovered. Love the round mirror you posted. I think you have a great thing going...clean, understated. I love the vase of pussywillows (?) on the table!

Hi, first of all I love your house and furniture. I like the first option better but how about this (I don't know if it works): put the couch under the window facing the dining room and put the console where the couch was originally. Possibly a big ottoman (rectangular) between the coffee table and the dining room (so you can sit and chat with the couch but not block the view of the dining), put the chair in the first option angled facing the console. I assume that's your front door, moving the console leaves that walkway more available. I would put something else there, a narrow table or chest of some type. Either art or mirror can go there or on console.

Bring in some more green and I like the round mirror.
