Hi, all. I am looking for a freestanding cart (a taller than normal one) to hold a microwave and toaster oven in the kitchen at my office. I googled "kitchen appliance cart" but did not come up with anything suitable.

I have found carts with closed storage on the bottom, and an appliance sits on top. BUT, I REALLY would like something taller than what I've seen...something with room for more than just 1 appliance.

Thanks for any suggestions you may have!

Look for portable kitchen islands, they seem to be a bit larger. We found one at Lowes to use as a bar table on the patio, it's taller and quite large.

Or, how about a professional stainless steel workbench from the kitchen supply store? I believe you can purchase wheels for them. I have a ss bench in my kitchen and it's a great 'extra' to have. So easy to clean, so substantial, and looks so streamlined.

Go to a place that FABRICATES laminate countertops. Take a door or drawer to color match. They can sell you sheets of laminate. May take a few days up to a couple of weeks to get it. They may be able to glue it to another sheet of something to make it the 1/8" it needs to be. They may even come out and take a template of your cabinet and cut it to fit for you....for a charge of course. They may even glue it for you. Contact cement bonds instantly so it could be tricky applying it.

For $2k (I'm thinking that is 10- 15% of the cabinet cost?) you get the full extension, a superior finish, better organization accessories, and the services of the KD? If this is correct, I'd say go with Medallion. Do you have all the accessories you want included in the bids - the prices of those could vary a lot, I'd guess? If your design works well without a lot of customization, and you like the factory finishes, what are the benefits to you of custom cabinets? Is your design totally set or still evolving? Would the cabinet maker bring any creative, helpful design ideas to the project?

I have Omega - They are a cherry-ish stain. 10 years old and look good as new. We are painting them white, go figure. I want a white kitchen - but the cabinets are in such good shape, there is no reason to replace them. Never heard of Kith - but that doesn't really mean anything.

Don't have trim/door color selected but was thinking whatever the cabinet paint color is could also be trim/door? Do people do that? IMHO, it's easier on everybody to choose just one color of white for the cabinets and trim/doors throughout the house. Client, painter, paint store mixer people, me. :) The BenM colors I listed are the top 3 Benjamin Moore whites with the smallest amount of chroma (or colorfulness). In other words, it doesn't get more "stark" than those three whites. And super low chroma whites are usually the ones that harmonize best with the Italian marbles. If they're too crisp, you can ratchet the chromaticity up a notch or two. Here's a list of Benjamin Moore's whites in order of chroma. You can find the table here. Click on the arrows in the green header bar to sort by hue family, value, chroma, LRV a.k.a. CIE Y.

My friend just bought one at Ikea. It's plenty wide for the microwave and toaster oven.
