Abby, I added a few pics to the album if you'd like to take another look. The cabinets are 27" deep so they are very spacious, but I feel like the space is not very practical. It's difficult to get to the very back of the shelf, so everything ends up piled near the front. I would love to have some shelves that slide out. Drawers would be even better. I guess it depends on what you want to store in there. Towels are a different story than little bottles, brushes, make-up, all that tiny bathroom stuff! There is an access panel in the lower cabinet. You can see in the pic that the panel is off right now, so it might look a little funny. The floor is just painted concrete. All the walls and shelves are painted as well. If I could do it over, I would probably keep the large lower cabinet with the access panel and enough room for toilet tissue/paper towels and cleaning supplies and another shelf. There's about 15 inches of unused vertical space down there that could benefit from another shelf (removeable so you could still get to the access panel). I would put a couple thin drawers (5-6") in between the upper and lower cabinets for all the little stuff. Then I'd have the upper cabinet. At that point I'd ask a cabinet/organization/closet expert to sugget ways to use the space efficiently. I don't know if that would include pull out shelves or what. But if you got creative in that space, you could really have a ton of storage. I would just keep your eye out around here, I have seen a few different bathrooms with this same set up. Maybe someone else has some additional suggestions. The toilet and sink are both Kohler Memoirs. I can't remember who makes the faucet but it is not Kohler. I had a horrible experience with having Mosaic House tile installed. Make sure your contractor absolutely knows what they are doing and watch that they are installing correctly. Find out what brands and types of products they are using. It matters! Tile was stained during construction (and scratched). They did not know how to apply the Protex Sealant and the correct order to grout, so there were additionally brushstrokes and grout stains. I now am spending more money and weeks more time trying to fix the job. I have hired someone who refurbishes tile and marble all over NYC. After numerous tests he has not been able to get the stains out. **Protex has an incredibly strong toxic smell. I am not sensitive to this. But If you live in an apartment building make sure this is OK. All my neighbors were concerned.

Thanks, but it's long since done & passed :) If anyone else has this question in the future, pretty much all of the reliable tile folk I spoke to (who are familiar with slate) said to seal the slate before grouting, with a light coating, then again after grouting. Has been sealed; grout is drying as I type :) And it looks great!

Thank you Jane. You have a lovely porch too. I love your willow furniture. You are lucky to have trees to shade it. Ours gets morning sun and can get quite warm very early one. One of these days we want to close in our sleeping porch off the master bedroom with storm type windows all around to make it more of a three season porch. We've not used it in years. Used to go out there in the evenings. I used Windows Paint to the above virtuals. I have an original version of PhotoShop that came with one of those pens (by Bamboo) that a friend gave to me since they already had PhotoShop. I think they run around a hundred dollars or so. I've not looked at them for a couple years now. Both Adobe and Corel have free online trials of their photo editors. I've tried them both and liked different things about each one so I never made up my mind which to buy. Now that I have the Adobe from my friend I should ask for the Corel for Christmas from my hubby.
