OK- I will work on all of this. Honestly I had my mom (who has a good eye) over today and we went through some options and I got more paint swatches. First of all now that I looked at more real yellows I can see where you are getting beige from the swatches I posted earlier today. At first I was thinking- beige? They seem clearly yellow to me. BUT now that I have 7-8 strips of yellow the others DO look beige. And it's interesting how you pick a color you think is good but then when you put another next to it it TOTALLY changes it to a different color! Talking through it with Mom, I think it will be a good idea to go in one direction or another. I was trying to kind of have a little of everything and realized it will all be muddled if I don't have a clear direction going here! In my very first post I love the dark brown cab with the original glazed cab. But, looking at the yellows, the brown wasn't working as well. Not horrible but not ideal. I think I'm going to go for it and do the yellow (like the new inspiration pic) and put a lot of white with it - still with walnut island maybe- and some black accents. I have a black cabinet sample that actually was much more exciting than the espresso with the yellows. : ) I'm so excited. I really love this and think it may work out! Wait til I show the decorator. It's quite different from my original plan. I think she'll like it too. My mom said she was surprised it was less formal than I usually like but I love it and think it will serve my house well. I think still keeping the arch window from my original inspiration picture (not on this thread) and my lights we can work it out I must take one of the lights out of the boxes b/c I want to see what the real color is. Hopefully they are not totally out of place with this new idea. If so, tell me and I'll see if I can return them. I REALLY love them and they were pricey so I hope it can work. What a pretty room and home you have. I have to agree with everyone, the windows and view are fabulous. I don't agree, however, with a window bench. One thing I would do is pull the sectional back so that there is no rug coming out from underneath the sofas in the back. In other words, pull the sectional to the far corner of the rug (next to the glass top table). This will shift things over a bit and move the recliner out of the walking path. Visually, it will look better also. It's not that far in either direction, so it won't be too far from the television either. If you have radiant flooring, you probably won't be able to put in floor outlets. Moving the sectional to the rugs' edge will possible allow a table with lamp or floor lamp at the outlet on the large wall (closest outlet to your desk). I agree, a comfy chair and table with lamp in the far back corner would be perfect. Especially the lamp. Is there an outlet near the glass top table and chairs so that a floor lamp could be placed there? If you get three good lamps in the room, you'll be able to turn off the can lights for a relaxing evening. If you cannot do floor outlets, I might only do one sofa table (against sectional back facing kitchen). I can't tell how much space is actually there - would there be a decent walking path to the glass table? If so, something more hefty than the table you linked from CB2. Make sure it is not taller than the back of your sofa (minus the cushions that stick up). If open below, buy a couple of woven wicker baskets with lids to hide toys, games and/or colorful throws.

Eleri Rose came into the world on 9/4 at 11:19AM at 8lbs 4oz. She is the 1st girl born into DH's side of the family for at least 2 generations so she will be spoiled. Her big brothers had planned to hide and live underneath their beds if they got a sister but they are very thrilled w/ her now. I got home Sun. & my house is remarkably in decent running order w/ the help of DH. He set me up w/ a lap top but it's not working right now. That just gives me more time to consider how to rearrange our LR! Projects never stop! That said, to make more room in the LR DH brought an old low steamer trunk down out of the attic to use as a coffee table in place of our giant round space consuming banana leaf one. I thought that it would be cool to mount industrial style wheels underneath to raise it a bit. Anyone know where I might try looking for some? Thanks so much for the pic. arrangement compliments! I am always either far behind or far ahead of the "colors of the year"! I have some black accents in the house (the black wood legs on my 2 club chairs, a black sofa table that is probably gonna be relegated soon to the finished basement, the black surround on the fireplace that was there when I bought the house, black-wood and black-metal picture frames), but the rest of the house is lighter: brushed aluminum and stainless colored furniture, including the TV table, which I had re-powder coated from black (!), the dining room table and chairs, the ceiling fans. And some maple (a TV armoire, a console table in the MBR). I looked into getting some end tables refinished from a denim blue (don't ask!) to maple, but the furniture refinisher just shook his head and said they'd always have a blue cast. Bummer. I just wish retailers would not forget the nice maple finishes when they sell the espresso stuff! (Some of the light alternatives, to me, look ugly. West Elm has a natural finish it calls "blonde," but I think it's way off. But contrast IS nice to see. Check out the dark Parsons-type DR table paired with the very light chairs on the West Elm website I just figure "real" blonde will come back soon, affordably. But by then I'll probably be searching high and low for the espresso! Love the one you're with, I guess!
