Hi, Your kids are young. I think one of the risks is that even if you have tight control of them, you may stumble and hurt your children. Even with some parts of the house with dry wall up, sometimes stairs and railings are not in place. It is difficult to answer builders questions at the same time looking after your kids. A few seconds is all it takes. I appreciate that you want to check on the house, and hiring a babysiter is a chore in itself and can be expensive. I therefore think a compromise is: 1) Leave the kids in the car. They are contained and you know where they are. Remember to roll down the windows. 2) Ask one of the work guys to watch over them in the car. He / She does not have to go in the car just keep an eye on them. 3) Bring toys etc. Ideally if your car is a SUV or Estate or Wagon. Fold down the seats. Your children are small. You can make a pretty nice play room in the back there for them. 4) Get yourself a set of Walkie Talkies. No license required. About $US 70 or cheaper. Look for one on which you can jam the transmit button down with some tape. The range is about a mile which is plenty. Yep, I love CraigsList. DH is always wanting to toss stuff and I say NO - try CL first. Last night we sold the old PC, monitor, etc. for $50 and two high quality CD racks last Saturday for $50. DH brought them from CL, probably for around $50 several years ago. We have also given away a lot of stuff. I like the fact that we don't have to pay to have it hauled away, and it doesn't end up in the dump. Clothes go to the local thrift store, though. It is a charity. I think selling clothes on CL would be too much hassle. We have not purchased as much via CL as we have sold and donated from CL. Brought a few file cabinets, desks and a great chair. One tip - DH had an expensive telescope that was an impulse purchase and he used only a few times. We posted that it would ONLY go to a school, etc. that could give us a tax (donation) receipt. That worked well for us.

I just talked to DH and he is going to pick up some rain ponchos when he goes to get dog food. DD has a book about Disney. And she got something else online that tell you which days are better for each park in terms of crowds. I think it is also somewhat personalize based on the kids ages. We will be taking a double stroller (one child sits/one stands) with us. The double stroller rental is a ridiculous $31 a day with a $100 deposit. - Not gonna happen. Sounds like the tea cups will be about the right speed for little kids and old ladies. We are not staying on Disney property. We have a condo at Terra Verde Resort. We LOVED the Kinderwagon HOP. Seats can go totally upright, great visibility for both kids (not typically the case with tandems), very compact unlike the bulky side-by-sides, 50 lb weight limit, very light and trim. Cons would be flimsy wheels - fine for smooth surfaces but definitely not rugged terrains. And tiny basket.
