This may be a dumb question

I am a new homeowner and have started doing some painting projects. I am currently working on my master bathroom. After scraping the popcorn off the ceiling, we primed it and then painted it white with some plain what flat paint off the shelf. Is it okay to use off the shelf white? Also, I bought some plain off the shelf white semi gloss for the trim. Is this okay? To me, basic white trim looks crisp and clean, but I just don't know what the trend is these days. Can anyone help? Also, I'm about to paint the cabinets white in the same bathroon. I think I will use gripper primer on them. Does anyone have a white color paint reccomendation that would work with the off the shelf white I have already used on the ceiling?

Yes. It's okay to use the premixed whites. They are white.

Trim is usually satin or semi gloss. The best choice is always 100% acrylic latex enamels.

Cabinet Coat in white will work with anything. It's a nice, soft white in satin sheen.

I'm a huge CC fan, that's no secret, but if you can't get that I found a nice crisp 'classic' white is Behr's "Clear Moon". It's got 'body' to it, not too yellow, gray, pink, etc. Just a 'clean' white. (Color obsessive that I am, I pored over many manufacturer's whites before I found one I wanted for my ceilings and other areas I did not use Cabinet Coat. A 'neutral' white that would work with about any color on the walls, cool or warm.)

i bought a glass blade and used my felker to cut a lot of glass tiles. Worked well. Go slow, and use sand paper to smooth the cut edges (for safe handling). Make sure there is continuous water. I saw the glass glowing at times :)

It's a kind thought, Jessy, but the bakery is in Melbourne, Australia (the other side of my country :-) ) so it would be easier and cheaper for me to call them myself if I needed to know if they were open for Pesach. It was more of a curiosity thing, since as I explained, I have already been there. It was just that while we were in Melbourne I suddenly realised it was almost Pesach but wasn't sure of the actual dates. Then it occured to me that if it WAS Pesach the bakery would almost certainly be closed and we would have a forty minute tram ride for nothing. I don't really need Passover products, I just like Jewish bakery products :-). I also don't really have anyone handier than you guys to ask these questions, since this being Western Australia, the nearest (and only) local synagogue is 100km away :-) We have few Jewish people here, it's a different demographic.

It would appear to be Echeveria 'Tippy' or another hybrid of E. colorata or E. chihuahuaensis. I would venture to say they are offsets as flowers usually appear as in this picture and don't usually have such large leaflets on the flower spike.

Alex, I just have to comment on your photo. First, what an adorable photo with the two kitties together! I love it! And second, I am envious of all the space you have for seedlings. Also.... Thank you for taking care of the ferals. You are wonderful. I don't have the funds for bark mulch, hay or pine straw so I just utilize what Mother Nature dumps on my yard every Fall. Tons and tons of leaves. We need to pick them up so why not shred them up and use as mulch? It doesn't look as pretty closeup as bought mulch, but over time it enriches the soil and I have tons of earthworms. The only downside is that rain doesn't penetrate it as well as other mulches. Also, my property is full of evergreens, mostly huge white pines, spruce and hemlocks which drop their needles on a regular basis. Many of them overhang my daylily beds. I just leave the needles where they fall. There are no adverse affects to my daylilies when they are piled up around the plants.

Okay, well I'm glad to know that it was okay that I used a premixed white. I thought it looked okay, but then again I don't really know much about paint. I've been reading about Cabinet Coat and it sounds like an amazing product. But I think I am too much of a beginner painter to be successful with it. I will check out the Behr Clear Moon Color.
