Hurrah for Maggie and Carol! Sounds like it was a visit among old friends. Although the company was best, I saw a menu of the restaurant and the food sounded very good! Hope Carol's phone pictures are posted soon! Glad you two could finally connect!

I knew we'd get along fine if we could eat sloppy onion soup together at a first meeting, LOL!

I had the best time, Maggie is a lot of laughs. it was a tiny place and for some reason I think we were louder than everyone else. So they think we're nuts :)

Poor Maggie had a lot of pressure to park, and it didn't help that I was on the sidewalk laughing and shouting directions with a guy waiting behind her. By the time we got to the restaurant, it was like old friends!

I spent all night trying to get the pictures from the phone, then bluetoothed it to Larry's phone, he'll try to get them to my computer tonight. but here are the great gifts Maggie got for me.

A really pretty jam pot, I just love! The citrus towels from Crate and Barrel. How cool is this, she knows I love lemon, Williams-Sonoma lemon extract. I'll put that to good use! and a glass fruit juicer, will come in very handy because Meyer Lemon season is right around the corner! It was a really great afternoon! Thanks for the gifts, thanks for the conversation and the laughs, it was such a nice afternoon! We'll do it again. but we'll find a place with a really, really big parking lot, LOL!

OOOHHH Meyer Lemons, now I'm getting really jealous because that's the one citrus fruit we can't seem to grow here.

I've been watching for pictures of this, but I really wanted to see the pictures of Maggie parking, LOL. I still think that getting your car towed because you left it at Friendly's isn't very.....well....friendly. (grin)

Well it sounds like you had fun! Sorry I couldn't make it, and I would still be riding around the block looking for a parking spot. I haven't parallel parked in eons, out here in the sticks , no need!

LOL, I only had a camera phone to work with, due to me being a hyper nut and just running out the door. and Maggie, no comment, LOL, leaving the camera card somewhere other than in her camera :) so no pictures of us, and a total "duh" moment, Maggie could've taken of me and I could've taken one of her but who could think, we were having too much fun talking and laughing! We did get pictures of the food. Which was good!

Kathleen, we missed you, and for sure, the next time you have to have there with us! LOL, she wasn't parallel parking, she was trying to get out of the wrong parking lot to cross over traffic and park on the other side of the street, with her vision totally blocked by a parked car and lots of two-way traffic :) She did good though!

Annie, we can't wait until you come to New Yawk! Here, you can practice at the Langwich Skool uv Noo Yawk and no one will even know your from Michigan.

Cathy, we'd made plans so many times before in the past year, but life kept getting in the way! Maggie said if people can travel all over the country to meet, but it took us over a year to travel 15 minutes. but we did it, and we'll do it again, and hopefully more of you can join us! We'll find a better parking lot :)

It really did go fast. I wish we had pics of us, too! We were looking good - LOL.

Kathleen, we missed you! We will have to make a date to meet half way or we will come all the way out there and force you to reveal your source for all the great buys on dishes you get! LOL

Oh maggie, I'll be there, I promise. Carol has a list of things I need to do in New Yawk, which includes riding around with my head out a sunroof, gawking like a tourist, eating gelato, real bagels, ice cream at Friendly's, shopping the gourmet food shops, and of course, a matinee at "The Theeatah".

Sorry, my New Yawk speaking lessons haven't quite "jelled" yet, LOL.

Sol, the parking was easy, crossing Merrick Rd during the day is the hard part. 4 lanes of trucks, cars and buses. and Maggie made it across. The poor guy on the bicycle almost didn't, LOL! Maggie scared him a little :) a lot, LOL!

YAY! i know you both could walk 15 miles in way less than a year but having driven on the island a few times a couple of decades back, i'm not surprised it took that long to get up the courage to do so when you didn't really HAVE to :) but it sure sounds like it was absolutely the perfect thing to do! i'm so glad you guys had a chance to spend the afternoon together! and that little jam pot is totally adorable--i'm sure you'll put that to good use, carol. thanx for the pics!
